MONTGOMERY, Mrs. Florence J. - Age 74, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2005 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10AM Wednesday, June 8, 2005 at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 4805 N. Saginaw St., with funeral service commencing immediately 11AM. Dr. Henry L. Fuller, Jr. officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10AM Wednesday. Mrs. Montgomery will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Tuesday. Mrs. Florence Jacqueline (Johnson) Montgomery was born on November 7, 1930, in Memphis, Tennessee, the daughter of Hobart and Katheryn Johnson. She had been a longtime resident of Flint. Mrs. Montgomery was a member of Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church for over 35 years and faithfully served on the usher board. Mrs. Montgomery retired from the Flint Board of Education in 1992. Mrs. Florence Jacqueline Montgomery leaves to cherish her sweet memory: daughters, Katherine Johnson and Karen Johnson of Southaven, MS, Khris Johnson of Flint, MI, Kimberly (Mitchell) Teamer of Ypsilanti, MI; 4 stepchildren, Charles, Wayne and Jennifer Montgomery and Pamela (Gregory) Gaines of Flint, MI; grandchildren, Michael (Victoria) Collins of Glendale, WI, Valencia Collins, DeMario Johnson of Southaven, MS; Corey (Kayla) Carroll and Kenneth Frierson of Flint, MI, DeAnte' Teamer of Ypsilanti, MI; 8 great-grandchildren, Maurice, Brandon, Vernecia, Jalen, Jamil, and Kevin Collins and Kenneth and Kimberly Duncan; 6 sisters, Alfreida Stevenson, Zenobia Carter, Bernice Henderson of Flint, MI; Gwendolyn Maze of San Diego, CA; Margaret Morrison of Silver Spring, MD; Countess (Earl) Gregory of Memphis, TN; aunt, Dorothy Ridley Minor of St. Louis, MO; and a host of loving nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews, great-great-nephews, cousins, adopted children and dear friends. Mrs. Montgomery was preceded in death by her husband, Wordie Rupert Robert "Bob" Montgomery and parents, Hobart and Katheryn Johnson.
