Mrs. Felicia Francine Talifarro

TALIFARRO, Mrs. Felicia - Age 66, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2024 at the Landings of Genesee Valley. Family hour 11:00 AM Saturday, June 22, 2024 at Triumph Ministries-Ebenezer Campus, 2130 S. Center Rd., Burton, MI, with funeral service commencing at 12:00 PM. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11:00 AM Saturday. Mrs. Talifarro will lie in state in the chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Friday. Ms. Felicia Talifarro was born January 2, 1958 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Willie and Ruby Roach. Felicia was a graduate of Beecher High School, “Class of 1976” and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Alcorn State University, in Lorman, MS in 1980. She married Robin Talifarro in 1983 and to this union 2 children were born in Oklahoma City, OK, Dontae Talifarro and Terrence Talifarro. Felicia worked in the Oklahoma City School System in Spencer, OK for 3 years and returned to Flint in 1988. She then worked for over 25 years in the Flint Community School System and retired in 2013. Felicia was and outstanding Teacher at Martin Luther King Elementary, Doyle Ryder Elementary and other schools. Ms. Felicia Talifarro leaves to cherish her memory: son, Terrance Talifarro; 2 grandchildren, Zoe Talifarro and Knowledge Talifarro; brother, Dexter (Linda) Roach; brothers-in-law, Randy Talifarro and Dre Verbal; 3 nieces, Onrea Roach, Mela Anya Roach, Melanie Sofie Hall and Maggie Trujillo; nephews, Trey Roach, Sadaris Wilson, Roland and Ramone Talifarro; mother-in-law, Dorothy Verbal; special cousins and friends, Thomasine Britten, Tammy Moss, Elaine Harris-Whitted, Lamar (Angie) Knox, Carolyn Hoskins, Rose Lawson, Tania Henderson, Karen Prater and Calvin Roach, Dorothy and Elaine Turner. Ms. Talifarro was preceded in death by her son, Dontae Talifarro; parents, Willie and Ruby Roach; brother, Tarelle Roach; sister, Steloise Green; Robin Talifarro and Ramona Talifarro; and father-in-law, Claude Verbal. The family would like to express special thanks to the staff at The Landings of Genesee Valley, Linda Steele, Pam Harris, June Smiley Perkins, Carolyn Hoskins, Rose Lawson, Elaine Harris, the Flint Teachers and co-workers throughout the school system
