Mrs. Evie Lacy Ross

ROSS, Mrs. Evie Lacy - Age 85 passed away Friday, May 8, 2020 at American House. Due to the current public health and safety concerns that we are facing at this time there will be no public viewing. Ms. Evie Lacy Ross was born February 8, 1935 in Bolivar, Tennessee, the daughter of Roy Blake and Annie Simpson Blake. She was a resident of Flint, Michigan. In 1966, She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior, and was baptized along with Fannie Bell as a member of Fairhaven Seventh Day Adventist Church, where she served on the Deaconess Board. She showed her stewardship by being a good and faithful servant, willing to help whenever she was called Lacy was employed at the Durant Hotel and A.C. Spark Plug, a division of General Motors Corporation. Some of her hobbies were sewing, reading, gardening, cooking, arts & crafts, and finding goodies at Goodwill. She loved spending time with her loved ones, whenever and however she could. She loved talking with them, and would always give the best advice that they sometimes didn’t want but always needed to hear. Her wisdom and life lessons will continue to live through everyone that she touched. Ms. Evie Lacy Ross leaves to cherish her memory: 2 daughters: Joyce {Maceo) Hunter and Sabreena Maria Ross, both of Flint: 3 sons: John Wesley Ross, Jr., John Fitzgerald (Lisa) Ross, all of Romulus, MI, and Dewayne Ross of Flint; brother, Sammie Blake of Middleton, TN; 3 sisters: Johnnie Whistenant, Annie Gunn of Middleton, TN and Lucille Williams of Memphis, TN; grandchildren: Nefertiti, Diamond, Lakiesha, Shameeca, Latreva, Tasha/Tika, Shyda; numerous other great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends, including special friends: Nevelyn Carroll, Fannie Bell, Pearly Kincaid, Margaret Coney, and all of her neighbors on Chevrolet Ave. Ms. Ross was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Sheila Ross, 3 grandchildren, her mother and father, Roy and Annie Simpson Blake, 2 sisters, and 3 brothers, and good friends Marion Connor, and Charlene. The family would like to express special thanks to Nurse Jolien, McLaren Hospice and American House. In that great getting up morning, God will say “well done, my good and faithful servant.” So for now, take your rest Lacy, take your rest.
