Mrs. Evelyn Wooten

WOOTEN, Mrs. Evelyn - Age 74, passed away Tuesday, February, 3, 2015 at her residence. Familly hour 10 a.m. Monday, February 16, 2015 at Holy Ghost Church Ministries, 801 Addison St., with funeral service commencning at 11 a.m. Eld. Robert Allen officiating, Pastor Robert Burrell, Host Pastor. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, G-5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10 a.m. Monday. Mrs. Wooten will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12noon-6 p.m. Sunday. Mrs. Evelyn Wooten was born January 11, 1941 in Prattville, the daughter of William Avery and Anna Mae Startmiles. She was residence of Flint, MI along with her family. Evelyn was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She was a child of God which she gave her life to the Lord in the early 70’s. Evelyn loved cooking, talking to her family and friends about the Lord, but she especially loved praying for all people. She was employ as a Foster Parent for years, she also worked cleaning banks and the Pickle Factory. Evelyn loved listening Christian music, watching the Word Network Channel, sending prayer to super. Christ Martin and Cathedral of Faith Ministries. She was one of the best cook in the City of Flint who will be missed dearly. Mrs. Evelyn Wooten leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Diane Wooten; 5 sons, Terry (Margie), Brian (Theresa), Timothy, Rodney (Sherron) Wooten, all Flint, MI and Fredrick (April) Wooten of Wichita, Kansas; grandchildren, Shamonia, Eric, Erica, Kassandra, Daniel, Shonda, Tierra, Timya, Bryanna, Shaquetta, Brian, Little Fred Jr., Martell, Diamond, Bailey, Braden, Omar, Little Rodney Jr., Keonate, Joseph, Danay, Damontae, Dariaye, Aryana and Taj; 33 great-grandchildren; 6 nieces, Kin (Robert) Kennbrew, JoAnn, Jean, Renita, Kia Avery and Tammy (Rodney) Prewitt; 12, nephews, Anthony, George, Robert, Jerome, Charles and Maurice Avery, Greg, Mark and Kenneth Wooten; a host of cousins including special cousin, Bobby Jean Evans, other relatives and friends including special friends, Joe Hawkins, Essie Moore, Joyce Ann Ray, John Meeks, Jessie Williams and Katie Bell. Mrs. Wooten was preceded in death her husband, James Wooten, Sr.; son James Wooten, Jr.; grandson, Little Rodney Wooten; great-granddaughter, Diamond Jones; parents, William Avery and Anna Mae Startmiles;2 sisters, Rosemary Wooten and Cornelia Strickland; 5 brothers, Arthur Lee, Eddie Lee, William Avery, Virgil and Lewis Avery and nephew, John Wooten.
