GAY, Mrs. Eunice - Age 76, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2008 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:30AM Thursday, June 12, 2008 at Northstar Missionary Baptist Church, 1657 Broadway Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11AM, Pastor James O. Flowers, Sr., officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30AM Thursday. Mrs. Gay will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home. There will be no public viewing. Mrs. Eunice Lee Gay was born April 12, 1932 in Braden, Oklahoma. The eldest child of Howard Waters and Willie Mae Kinnard-Vaughn. She moved to Flint, MI at an early age and attended Flint Community Schools. Eunice was united in Matrimony to Cleophas Gay. Eunice loved her family and the church! She also loved to bowl. Eunice was a strong, faithful and dedicated member of North Star Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on Usher Board, Trustee Board, Finance Department, Mother Board and Chairperson of the Pastors special fund raising committee. She also faithfully served on the Pastor and Wife's Annual Day Committee for over 25 years. In the same way she gave her all when she was in the world was the same way she gave her all to the church when she gave her life to Christ! Mrs. Eunice Gay leaves to cherish her memories: husband, Cleophas Gay; 3 daughters, Diane Blassingame, Audrey Blassingame-Rodgers and Nina Renee Gay, all of Flint; 2 sons, Reginald Fields of Libson, OH and Noah Seales of Flint; 30 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Virginia Manns and Deborah (Lloyd) Holmes; 3 brothers, Hudson Brown, Raymond Vaughn and Alfonso (Qvester) Vaughn, all of Flint; sister-in-law, Ernestine Irish; 2 brothers-in-law, Luther Irish and Clarence Jones all of Oklahoma; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including special cousin, Norma "Polly" Cooper; 4 special daughters, Lois Yarbrough, Yvonne Jones, Phyllis Leslie and Carolyn Anthony; special friend, Linda Flowers. Mrs. Gay was preceded in death by her sons, Lendale Waters, Michael Blassingame and Eugene Hickmon; grandson, Terrence Williams; parents; grandparents, Walter and Sarah; 4 sisters; and 4 brothers. The family would like to express special thanks to Pastor James O. Flowers, Sr., and North Star Missionary Baptist Church family, Pastor Seon Thompson and Refuge Temple Church family, Missionaries, Hurley Medical Center ER Staff.
