COLE, Mr. Eugene Jr.- Age 64, passed away Friday, December 4, 2015 at McLaren - Flint. Family hour 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 14, 2015 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Alcus Smith, Sr. officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Association, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Mr. Cole will lie in stat ein the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Sunday. Mr. Eugene Ardell Cole, Jr. "“Mean Gene" , was born on January 23, 1951, in Flint, Michigan. He was the son of Eugene Cole, Sr. and Sarah Jones. Eugene attended school in Flint, MI and graduated from Flint Central High School, and went on to serve in the United States Army. He worked for General Motors for 30+ years, where he served as a Committee Man and was also a Union Representative for UAW Local 598. “Mean Gene” loved detailing vehicles, enjoyed playing Horseshoes and won many titles statewide. Eugene also enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time with family and friends. Mr. Eugene A. Cole, Jr. leaves to cherish his memory: loving and devoted wife, Phyllis (Thornton) Cole of Flint; children, Shellene Rogers of Kissimmee, FL, Uronke Cole of Harrisburg, PA, Rafael Murphy and Crystal Cole, both of Flint, Annette Franklin of Memphis, TN, Tiffany (Jamal) Allen of Jersey City, NJ, and Robert Smith of Pontiac, MI; stepchildren, Monise Thornton and Ricky Clements II, both of Flint; grandchildren, Nigel and Deondric Royster, Tyrone Rogers, Anthony Tyson, Jhanay Darby, Keyocia, Rafael Jr., and Kyndal Murphy, DeMarcus, Tytiana, and QueDarius O'Neal, Cha'Tavia White, Shammara Grimes, Reginé, ReShawn and Christopher Smith and Cole Shields; great-grandchildren, Lakira and Aaliyah Royster; special niece, Charisse Davis; a host of other relatives and friends including, special friends, Frankie “Pops” Brodnax, Johnny Watson, Johnny Wadell, Gary Sweeny, Cecil Thornton, Sr., Lester Carson and the Eldorado Drive families. Mr. Cole was preceded in death by his daughters, Eugenia Warren, Tamika White; son, Darryl Smith; parents, Eugene (Sarah) Cole, Sr.; sister, Rita Cole and cousin, William Caldwell. The family would like to thank the McLaren-Flint Hospital and staff, the Thornton, Denson, Polk, and Blanks families, Pastor Alcus Smith, Sr. and The Promise of Eternal Life Church and True Light Missionary Baptist Church families.
