MILLER, Mrs. Ethel Zadella - Age 89, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Henry Ford Hospital-Clinton, Twp., MI. Family hour 10:00 AM Thursday, January 24, 2019 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM; Rev. Dr. Phillip Washington, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Chapel 10:00 AM Thursday. Mrs. Miller will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM-8:00 PM Wednesday. Mrs. Ethel Z. Miller was born July 10, 1929 in Fairfield, AL, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Clarence and Willie (Matthews) Southall. Mrs. Miller retired from General Motors. Mrs. Miller joined Dozier Memorial C.M.E. Church in 1962, having served devotedly over the years in many positions. She was for a time a choir member, and was the first woman appointed as a Trustee by Rev. J.W. Bennett, Sr. For many years, Mrs. Miller worked tirelessly on fundraisers for Dozier and assisted with catering for their special events and programs. Mrs. Miller served faithfully as a Stewardess. After many years of service, she was named Stewardess Emeritus. Her favorite Scripture was ‘I will lift my eyes unto the hills from whence cometh my help; my help cometh from the Lord which made heaven and earth’ (Psalm 121:1-2). Mrs. Miller was a devoted and loving wife and mother for over 50 years. She participated in her children’s activities throughout the years becoming a Cub Scout den mother, Band Parent president and Parent-Teacher Association officer. Mrs. Ethel Z. Miller leaves to cherish her memory: 4 daughters, Marcia Z. Allen of Mt. Morris, MI, Teresa (Bruce) Miller and Lynda (Jeffrey) Lewis, both of Grand Blanc MI, Karen Spruce of Macomb, MI, 2 sons Brian (Felicia) Miller of Southfield, MI, Kenneth Miller of Burton, MI; 9 grandchildren, Marita Allen of Clinton Twp., MI, Liana Rogers, Louisville, KY and Lauren (Melvin) Presnall of Flint, MI, Brandon and Evan Miller, both of Jefferson City, Missouri, Jeffrey Lewis II of Grand Blanc, MI, Cartilia III and Gabriel Miller both of Lansing, MI, and Alonna Jones of Flint; great-grandchildren Micah Allen, Reaiah and Neriah Rogers, Brandon II and Benjamin Miller, Kaleb Miller, Malchiel Presnall and Liberty Jones; a host of other relatives and friends including special cousins, nieces, and friends Linwood, Marleen, and Juarine McGowan; Augusta Jones and Glenna Berry-Crawford; Lucy Stinson, Nina Miller, Wilma Bennett, Edna Thomas and Donna McNeal. Mrs. Ethel Miller was preceded in death by her parents, aunt Carrie O’Neal, husband Cartilia Miller Sr., and son Cartilia Miller II.
