GRANT, Mrs. Ethel - Age 83, passed away Sunday, April 2, 2006 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home. Family hour 11AM Friday, April 7, 2006 at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 502 Leith St., with funeral service commencing at 12Noon. Pastor Louis H. Mays officiating. Interment Lovedale Memorial Cemetery, G-5175 E. Bristol Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11AM Friday. Mrs. Grant will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Thursday. Mrs. Ethel Lee Grant was born November 30, 1922 in Kosciusco, Mississippi, the daughter of Exeline Rimmer and J.C. Stewart. She was a domestic worker, and always made time to assist in many school activities. Mrs. Grant was a loving and giving person. She enjoyed peace and quietness, along with reading and writing constantly. Mrs. Grant also volunteered with feeding and clothing the less fortunate. Most of all, she was a faithful and dedicated mother. Mrs. Ethel Lee Grant leaves to cherish her memory: 8 daughters, Debra L. Grant of New Haven, CT, Rosemary Johnson of Flint, Jacqueline Grant of Philadelphia, PA, Diana L. Grant of Hamden, CT, Vanessa (Cardell) Sanders of Clio, MI, Jannie Bittle of Hamden, CT; 2 sons, Eugene Grant of Marietta, GA, and Ulysses S. Grant, Jr. of Flint; 12 grandchildren, Dionell Berry, Bernard Stewart, Sr., Ahmad Grant, Sr., LaTesha (Donyell) Bolden, Delon Grant, Sr., Amir Grant, Dawad Sanders, Phillip Sanders, Briana Collins, Sharmil Sanders, Dereyk Grant, Sr. and Adrian Collins; 10 great-grandchildren, AHmiyah, Delon, Jr., Aliyah, Ahmad, Jr., Dereyk, Jr., Liddia, DeAndre, Dominique, Bryana and Bernard, Jr.; and sister-in-law, Leverna Stewart of Detroit, MI; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mrs. Grant was preceded in death by her husband, Ulysses Grant, Sr.; 2 daughters, Dorothy Stewart and Delinda Berry; 3 sisters; and 1 brother.
