WALKER-JONES, Mrs. Estella - Age 69, passed away Friday, July 28, 2023, at Ascension Genesys. Family hour 10:30 AM Monday, August 7, 2023, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM, Pastor Alfred Harris Sr., officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Funeral Home 10:30 AM Monday. Mrs. Walker-Jones will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 10:00 AM-4:00 PM Sunday. Mrs. Estella Louise Walker-Jones was born August 27, 1953 in Birmingham, Alabama, the daughter of Howard and Levolia Walker. Estella was a resident of Flint, Michigan and graduated from Beecher High School. She was employed by General Motors Corporation where she retired. Estella was a member of Saints of God Church and Pastor Alfred L. Harris Sr. was her pastor. She had a passion for expressing how she felt and a strong, loving family was important to everyone that she communicated with. Estella welcomed you with a smile and some words of encouragement no matter what you were going through. She wanted you to be better than you were the day before. Estella loved to play Solitaire, social media, and The Casino (Boom Boom Room). She also loved decorating every room in the house, watching basketball and football, shopping, her church family, and baking cakes was her specialty. Estella made the best Caramel Cakes, 7up Pound Cakes, Sweet Potato Pies and Million Dollar Pies. She dressed and coordinated everything she wore with accessories down to the shoes (she had lots of shoes). Mrs. Estella Louise Walker-Jones leaves to cherish her memory: husband, Arthur Jones; 3 sons, Lorenza (Shurene) Walker, Preston (April) Walker and Brushar Walker; grandchildren, Lorenza Walker Jr., Quaneisha Edwards Brand (Steven), Queon Walker, Kayshala Elizabeth Louise Walker, Preston Walker Jr., Devell Barton, Shantoya Barney, Antwan Barton, Brushar Walker Jr., Archie Porter Jr., Destinē Porter and Jadyn Barton; great-grandchildren, Layla Walker, Charlize Walker, Camryn Walker, Skylar Edwards, Harley Edwards, Kasir Edwards, Kasyn Edwards, Melani Walker and Summer Nicole Elise Brown; siblings, Erma (Alex) Barnes, Howard Walker Jr., Sandra Walker, Bruce Walker, Mark (Annette) Walker, Roderick Berd, Juliette Adams and Lucretia Gurly; great-great-aunt, Mineola Doaty; a host of cousins including the Walker, White, Cook, Martin, Cole, Lee, Hampton, Doaty and Anderson families, and many others too numerous to name; god-daughter, Topaz Turnipseed; a host of other relatives and friends including best friends, Rose Bradford, Rhonda Searcy, Cassandra White, and JoAnne Womack. Mrs. Estella Louise Walker-Jones was preceded in death by her parent, Howard and Levolia Walker; sisters, Lola Jernigan and Gearldine Thomas; brother, Avery Walker; sister-in-law, Linda Walker; friend, Shirley Rochelle; and best friend, Reeder Barton.
