WILLIAMS, Mrs. Ernestine - Age 68, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2016 at her residence. Family hour 8:00 AM Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. with funeral commencing at 8:30 AM. Interment Flint Memorial Park, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy, Mt. Morris, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 8:00 AM Saturday. Mrs. Williams will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12:00PM-8:00 PM Friday. Mrs. Ernestine (Norton) Williams, 68 was born July 26, 1948 in Galveston, Texas to Jack Curry and Pearlie Mae (Walker) Norton. “Tine” affectionately called by loved ones graduated from Mott Adult High School. She was a “Jehovah Witness” and witnessed to all people. She would call the neighborhood children into her home luring them with her good home cooked meals. As they ate she would preach about the “New World Order.” A lot of peoples’ first introduction to “A God” was at “Tine’s” dinner table. The cooking she liked, but the people it brought is what she loved most. “Tine” enjoyed this time of year. She appreciated the changing colors of leaves on trees. “Tine” believed this time of year represented a shedding of the old to make room for new beginnings. It’s befitting that she would choose this time to transition to her next stage. Mrs. Ernestine Williams leaves to cherish her memory: husband, Joseph of 51 years; 2 daughters, Tina M. Williams and Chrishinda J. (Ricky) Phifer; 5 sons, Joseph R. Williams, Gerald L Williams, Lonnie B. Williams, Darrick T. Williams and Mario D. (Rachel) Williams, all of Flint; 4 sisters, Joyce (Julio) Santiago, Linda Cole, Eva Norton and Evelyn Nabors, all of Georgia; 3 brothers, Daryl (Regina) Norton of Grand Blanc, MI, Johnny Norton of Flint Twp., MI, and Aamir (Gwen) Muhammad of Saginaw, MI; a host of adopted daughters and sons, a gazillion grandchildren, great-grandchildren, friends, nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her parents, Jack Curry and Pearlie Mae Norton; sisters, Pearlene Thompson, Shirley Norton and Cheryl Norton; brothers, Ernest Norton and Jack Curry Norton Jr.
