VINCENT, Bro. Ernest William, Sr. - Age 78, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 9, 2005. Family hour 10AM Friday, April 15, 2005 at North Central Church of Christ, 2001 N. Saginaw St., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11AM. Bro. Darron Fantroy officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10AM Friday. Bro. Vincent will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Thursday. Bro. Ernest William Vincent, Sr. was born January 7, 1927 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Fred and Frances Vincent. He was a lifetime resident of Flint. In 1949, Ernest married his childhood sweetheart, Gloria J. Watkins. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and an active member of North Central Church of Christ. After retiring from Chevrolet with 44 years of service, he enjoyed fishing, watching sports, gardening and participating in church activities. Bro. Ernest William Vincent, Sr. leaves to cherish his memory: son, Ernest W. Vincent, Jr.; 4 daughters, Jan Reaves, Gloria (Gerald) Browning, Paula (Samuel) Muldrew, Kathy (Dr. Nat) Burtley; 10 grandchildren, Nickole Taylor, Chani Reaves, Ricky Taylor, Jr., Gerald Browning, Jr., Shannon Reaves, Monica (Craig) Howard of Portland, TX, Christopher Vincent Burtley, Michelle Burtley of Detroit, MI, Michael Burtley of Colorado Springs, CO, Quanika Goff; 6 great-grandchildren, Demetrius Taylor, Ricky Taylor III, William Pruitt Allen III, Manika Taylor and Julianna Howard, including special great-grandson, Kenneth Taylor; many nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Minnie Vincent; a host of cousins in Flint and Ontario, Canada; other relatives and friends. Bro. Vincent was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria; parents, Fred and Frances Vincent; sisters, Pauline and Ileen Vincent, Marie Harrison, Margaret Chickee, Bessie Anderson; and brother, Fred Vincent. The family wishes to express their love and thanks to the North Central Church of Christ family, the Lynn Street family, and longtime friends including, Margret Wren, Joyce Higgins, Chedrick Reaves, Joe Kendall and Kurt.
