NEALY, Mr. Ernest Lee - Age 77, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Genesys Health Park. Family hour 11 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2011 at Living Word Ministry, 2001 W. Carpenter Rd., with funeral service commencing at 12Noon. Eld. Kirk Whitmore, Sr., officiating. Interment Lovedale Memorial Cemetery, G-5175 E. Bristol Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11 a.m. Saturday. Mr. Nealy will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12Noon-8 p.m. Friday. Mr. Ernest Lee Nealy, affectionately known as “Silver Fox” was born October 5, 1933 in Scooba, Mississippi. He was the oldest son of Howard and Fannie Nealy, Sr. Ernest moved to Flint, Michigan in 1954 and began working for General Motors Corporation, where he retired in 1995 after 40 years and was a member of UAW Local 659. Ernest accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He was a member of Living Word Ministry where he served on the “Greeter and Morning Glory Ministries.” “Silver Fox” was a Professional Bowler and loved the sport; he had the opportunity to share his talents by training others in the area. Ernest bowled several “300 Games” and traveled the world with his bowling talents. He loved his family and friends and made it a part of his daily routine to visit someone. Mr. Ernest L. Nealy leaves to cherish his memory: 4 brothers, Howard (Daisey) Nealy, Jr. of East St. Louis, IL, James (Carolyn) Nealy of Albuquerque, NM, George Nealy and Herman (Pamela) Nealy, all of Flint; 2 sisters, Fannie (Edmund, Sr.) Baker of Portsmouth, VA and Edna (Elder Eddie) Humphrey of Mt. Morris, MI; former wife and friend, Yvonne Nealy; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, including special niece, Paula Threlkeld of Flint; special friends, Bennie Kendall, Mack McDill and Esther Frederick; a host of other relatives and friends including the bowling community. Mr. Ernest Nealy was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Nealy, Sr. and Fannie Nealy. The family would like to express special thanks to Elder Kirk and First Lady Whitmore and the Living Word Ministry Church family, Elder Eric and First Lady Bogan and Harris Memorial COGIC Church family, the nurses at Genesys Health Park, Dr. Shumaker and his wife Bess for all the many acts of support and kindness during our time of loss.
