COULTER, Mr. Ernest Robert - Age 60, passed away Thursday, June 18, 2009 at his residence. Family hour 10:30AM Wednesday, June 24, 2009 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11AM. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, G-4200 Belford Rd., Holly, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30AM Wednesday. Mr. Coulter will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 1PM-8PM Tuesday. Mr. Ernest Robert Coulter III “Spud” was born July 9, 1948 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Estelle Seaborne and Ernest R. Coulter II. Ernest attended Northwestern High School. He served in the United States Army and was Honorably Discharged on September 23, 1969. Ernest was employed with the Goodwill Industries before being laid-off. He was a loving, caring person, who loved helping people and encouraging them to be thankful for what they did have. “Spud” loved being with his grandchildren, this was his greatest joy. He was the most wonderful “granddad”. His goal was to make sure he was there for his family whenever needed. He enjoyed music, reading and watching movies. Mr. Ernest Robert Coulter III leaves to cherish his memory his companion, Shelia M. Perkins of Flint; 2 daughters, Shamar Carpenter of New Orleans, LA, Benecia Perkins of Flint; 3 sons, Temujin (Kecia) Perkins, Sr., Andre (Teresa) Perkins, all of Flint, Antawn (Nora) Perkins of Kalamazoo, MI; grandchildren, Drionna Carpenter, Ariel Gordon, Zicary Carpenter and Ridez Carpenter, all of New Orelans, LA, Eric Perkins, Datwain Perkins, Temujin Perkins, Jr., Idonnia Perkins, Nayirah Perkins, Nyneka Perkins, Kalaya Perkins, Zicara Turvey, Kenneth Turvey, Kevin Turvey, Nakelah Perkins, Andre Perkins, Jr., Jaylen Perkins, all of Flint, Treyshawn Perkins, Demonte Perkins, Treyshawna Perkins, Two Perkins, all of Kalamazoo, MI; 2 great-grandchildren, Kaylon Perkins and Byron Curtis; sister, Valerie Coulter of Houston, TX, brother, Jacque` Seabourne of Florida; 2 nieces, Shalonda Coulter of Houston, TX and Nikki Coulter of Flint; nephew, Omar Coulter; a host of cousins; sister-in-law, Augusta Leatherman of Flint; brothers-in-law, Donald Perkins and Harrison Cook; a host of other relatives and friends including special friend, Richard Broom. Mr. Coulter was preceded in death by his parents, Estelle Seabourne and Ernest R. Coulter II.
