Mrs. Erma Jean Brown

BROWN, Mrs. Erma Jean - Age 73, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2017 at her residence. Family hour 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church, 1215 E. Downey St., with funeral service commencing at 12:00 PM. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, G-4200 Belford Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11:00 AM Tuesday. Mrs. Brown will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM Monday. Mrs. Erma Jean Brown was born January 24, 1943 in Hahira, Georgia, the daughter of John Brown and Georgia Arlene Orr. She was a resident of Flint, Michigan since 1964. Erma was a faithful member of King Solomon Baptist Church until her illness prevented her attendance. She was employed for many years with Clara Barton, Hurley Medical Center and Heritage Manor, as a Nursing Assistant. Her hobbies were cooking, fishing and taking care of her family. Mrs. Erma Jean Brown leaves to cherish her memory: daughters, Tanya D. (Tracey) Carlysle of Flint, Tonya V. Brown of Grand Blanc, MI and Tasha R. Wade of Monroe, LA; grandchildren, Torrence Carlysle of Flint, Ashley Brown of Grand Blanc, MI, Brandon Carlysle, Brandy Carlysle, both of Flint, Brittany Carlysle, Keishaun, Kwame and Tahira Wade, all of Monroe, LA; great-grandchildren, Anyia Snowden, Jeremiah Carlysle, Zion Johnson, Bria Johnson, Mackenzie Brown, Jaxson Brown, and Bella Trannon; sisters, Nancy Garrison of Flint, Sonya Orr, and Brenda Miller of Adel GA; brothers, James Orr of Adel, GA, Ellis Orr and John Orr, both of Cecil, GA; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, god-daughter, Ashley (Tim) Wooten of Adel, GA, Rose Wiggins, and Ozell Burns, of Flint. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by husband; William Lee Brown Jr.; granddaughter, Amber Vonetta Brown; great-granddaughter, Kaci Rae Brown; parents, John Brown and Georgia Orr; sisters, Johnnie Mae Gillespie and Faye Orr; brother, James Kermit Orr.
