Mr. Eric Marlin Cooper Sr.

COOPER, Mr. Eric Marlin, Sr. - Age 39, passed away Thursday, January 3, 2013 at his residence. Family hour 10 a.m. Saturday, January 12, 2013 at House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church, 1851 W. Carpenter Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Pastor Seon Thompson officiating, Pastor Kenneth L. Stewart, Host Pastor. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, 5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10 a.m. Saturday. Mr. Cooper will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12 noon-8 p.m. Friday. Mr. Eric Marlin Cooper, Sr. was born October 31, 1973 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Jennie Mae Cooper and Bennie M. Bonner, Sr. Eric accepted Christ at an early age. He attended Flint Community Schools, and completed his education at Beecher High School, “Class of 1992.” Eric was a very good football and basketball player. He loved playing and watching sports. His favorite teams were the Beecher Bucs and the San Francisco 49ers. Eric was a wonderful and dedicated husband and father. He married his high school sweetheart and friend of 25 years, Chiquita and to their union they have the most well-mannered, talented and intelligent children a father could ask for. Eric always said he was truly blessed and he was so proud of them. Eric’s amazing talent was passed down to his two beautiful children, Eric Jr. and Ericanique. His son’s basketball team took All-State 2012. Eric Jr. went All-state in Track and Football 2012. He will graduate this year and attend college in the fall. His daughter, his baby girl, Ericanique plays Varsity Basketball and Volleyball, she received her first Varsity Letter recently. Even though she’s only in the 11th grade she also has plans to go to college after high school. Eric was a man of great strength and integrity, he loved his beautiful wife. They always would travel and take the kids to different places like Georgia, Florida, Arkansas, Chicago and California to name a few. They loved to shop, Eric’s family would always have the latest styles. Eric and his family moved to Tampa, Florida for several years where he worked for Delta Airlines. They moved back to Michigan to be closer to their parents. He was currently employed at North Gate Package Company until his health failed. Morris, MI; mother, Jennie Mae Cooper of Flint; grandmother, Ola Mae Foreman of Decatur, GA; sisters, Tyshida (Roger) Williams of Mt. Morris, MI, Tracey (Jimmy) Bonner of Waynesboro, GA and Valencia Bonner of Augusta, GA; brothers, Alan Bonner, Bennie Bonner, Jr., Bryant Bonner, Barron Bonner and William Rouse, all of Waynesboro, GA; sisters-in-law, Angelia (Henry) Carstarphen, Dana (Theophlis) Poindexter III, Delal (Kevin) Maynor, Sr. and Kemeliah (Michael) Graham; brothers-in-law, Kenneth (Casandra) Lockett, Albert L.
