STOKES, Ms. Empriss S. "Yung Tweet" - Age 20 passed away Friday, September 12, 2008. Family hour 10AM Tuesday, September 23, 2008 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11AM. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home 10AM Tuesday. Ms. Stokes will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Monday. Ms. Empriss Shavonne’ “Yung Tweet” Stokes was born August 6, 1988 in Detroit, MI, the daughter of Jacqueline F. Stokes and Marc A. Washington. Empriss moved to Flint, MI as a young child. She attended Flint Community Schools graduating from Central High School "Class of 2006" and later attending Baker College for Human Services. Empriss loved Jesus and attended Christian Love Church. She loved to play basketball, write, rap and performing was her love. She also enjoyed googling on the computer, playing and joking with friends. Ms. Empriss S. “Yung Tweet” Stokes leaves to cherish her memory: goddaughter, Alexandrea Robinson; pet, Yellow bearded Dragon LT; parents, Jacqueline Stokes and Marc A. Washington; stepfather, Phillip McKenzie; 3 sisters, LaJoy, Leda both of Detroit, MI, Tyeisha “Risha” of Flint; 10 brothers, John, Brandon, Demtre, JaQualan, DeShon, David, Anthony, all of Flint, Kenneth, Tywan and Tyrone, all of Detroit, MI; 12 nieces, Breianna, Brittany, Beonca, DaJa, Tricee, Becky, Alexandra, Myangel, Shawntasia, Lee Lee, Amanda and Cearia; 9 nephews, Javonte, Kain, John, David, Xavier, Javion, Deshon, Gino and Adrian; aunt, Ida Mae (David) Cook; 2 great aunts, Oprah Duncan and Lizzie Mae Bailey; 4 uncles, James (Lydia) Stokes, Abraham (Valarie) Stokes, George (Janice) Stokes and Johnny Stokes, all of Detroit, MI; brother-in-law, Antonio Potts; a host of other relatives and friends including BBF, Ronita "Gucci" Ramsey, Porsche McGurie and cousin, Alexis Robinson Ms. Stokes was preceded in death by her grandparents, Cellus and Ella Ruth Stokes; brother, Kain Stokes; niece, Taliah Wilson; nephew, Dezzman Miller; uncles, King and Joe Stokes; very special godmother, Rebecca Morgan.
