SANDERS-RICHARDSON, Mother Emma H. - age 95, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at her residence. Family hour 10 a.m. Thursday, March 27, 2014 at Family Worship Center Church International, 3280 N. Linden Rd. with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Pastor Timothy R. Stokes Host Pastor, Pastor T.J. Lee officiating. Interment Ridge Road Cemetery, Brady Twp., MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Church 10 a.m. Thursday. Mother Sanders-Richardson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. and may be viewed from 1 p.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday. Mother Emma H. Sanders Richardson was born May 15, 1918 in Nashville, Tennessee to William McKinley Barnes, Sr. and Amanda S. (Parker) Barnes. Her family came to Saginaw, MI when Emma was 10 years old. Mother Sanders was the eldest of four children and the only girl. Emma married Charles Sanders, Sr. at the age of 16 and together they raised 5 children and an adopted son, Byron Thomas. Mother Richardson loved the Lord, her children, grandchildren, and family. She was very active in the community and her church families, Racy Free Methodist, Galilean Baptist, and Mount Nebo Missionary Baptist Church. Emma touched a great number of lives throughout her lifetime as a School Bus Driver, Stanley Product Representative, Foster Parent, Hospital Volunteer, Home Health Aide, and Youth Sunday School Teacher. Mother Richardson continued to make a difference at Mount Nebo as well as Mother of the Church as wife of the late Reverend Alvin Crawford Richardson, and she was an active member of the Pastor’s Wives Group. Mother Emma Richardson leaves to cherish her memory: 3 daughters, Wanda S. Lowe, Geraldine D. Sanders and Ruth M. Sanders; 1 son, Charles (Mildred) Sanders Jr.; adopted son, Byron Thomas; 16 grandchildren, Angela Sanders, Sherrie (Richard) Wafer of Texas, Charles (Tanya) Sanders III, LaTynia Owens, all of Ohio, Calvin (Brenda), Edward (Sabrina), Jr., Doris Marie, Giovanna, Cassaundra, Tracy, all of Michigan, Annjineca (Curtis Jr.), of Texas, Tiffany, Timothy, Kyle, Nadia, Rickie and Erin; 3 step-children, Robbie R. Grier, Gail (Dr. Leroy) Johnson, Rose, Margreat (Leon) Handley, Alvin (Amy), Merrill, and Terrell; daughter-in- law, Ida (Edward Sr.) Bell Sanders; 46 great grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, the Woods family, the Blanks family, and all of her lifelong friends from the Saginaw and Chesaning areas. Mother Emma Richardson was preceded in death by her mother, Rev. Amanda Clay and father, William Barnes, Sr., brothers, William Barnes, Jr., and Robert Henry Barnes; son, Edward Lee; 2 grandchildren, Terrie and Valery; 2 great grandchildren; and special friend Ludell Roszella Blanks. The family would like to express special thanks to The Family Worship Center Church International family, the Mount Nebo Missionary Baptist Church family, Dr. Eugine Chandoul, and all of our family and friends.
