DAVIS, Bro. Emery Andrew - age 76, passed away Thursday October 30, 2014 at Genesys Convalescent Center-Grand Blanc, MI. Public viewing 2 p.m.-6 p.m. Monday November 3, 2014 with Masonic service from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. Family hour 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, G-6415 N. Clio Rd. with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Pastor Wallace Hill III officiating. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, G-5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10 a.m. Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in memory of Bro. Emery A. Emery Andrew Davis “Loose Shoes” “Kool-Aid Kid” was born into this life November 8, 1937 in Cotton Plant, Arkansas, the son of the late Forrest and Luegenia (Nunn) Davis. Emery was welcomed home October 30, 2014. He attend the Cotton Plant Schools. Emery accepted Christ at an early age and believe Jesus was his Lord and Savior. He was a member of Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Wallace Hill III. Emery left Cotton Plant, AR at an early age and went to Illinois, where he worked for the United States Postal Service. He moved to Flint, Michigan where he was employed and retired from General Motors. Emery loved Masonry for 55 years and was member of the Golden Gate Lodge #43 (Chicago, IL), Saginaw Valley Consistory #71 (Honorary Past Potentate), Oman Temple #72 and Royal Chapter #27 (Eastern Star). He was an avid CB Radio Person. Emery was devoted to his church, when he couldn’t go, he would say “I am there in spirit.” Bro. Emery Andrew Davis “Loose Shoes” “Kool-Aid Kid” leaves to cherish his memory: devoted wife of 21 years, Darlene; children, Erwin (Marsha) Davis, Sr. of Bloomington, IL, Craig L. Ross of Flint, Anthony M. Ross, Stephanie Davis-Williams, both of Chicago, IL, Dawn Kincaid of Hayward, CA, Eugene Davis, Kaesha McKenzie Cooper, both of Flint, Leah Davis –Bradley of Phoenix, AZ and GaQuilla (Ralph) Mathews of Columbus, GA; 19 grandchildren; 3 sisters, Floridia Womack of St. Louis, MI, Leona Lee of Chicago, IL and Ora Davis of St. Louis, MO; a host of nieces including special niece, Ethel Long of St. Louis, MO; a host of nephews, other relatives and friends. Bro. Davis was preceded in death by his loving parents, Forrest and Luegenia Davis; sisters, Mae Will Davis and Elree Archable; brothers, R. Forrest Davis and Henry Davis. The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Katato, Anthony (Erica) Walton, Dave (Tyra) Williams, Shirley (Emma) Davis, Bob Payman, David Gaines, Ann Crumpton, Sharon Williams, Bobby (Brenette) Coleman, Joe (Pearl) Hampton, Ira (Tonya) Hunter and many others.
