Mrs. Elounda Marie "Yo-Yo" Watts

WATTS, Mrs. Elounda Marie "Yo-Yo"- Age 60, passed away Monday, September 11, 2023 at McLaren-Flint. Family hour 10:00 AM Friday, September 22, 2023 at Prayer Garden C.O.G.I.C., 3918 Fleming Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Interment Gracelawn Cemetery, 5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:00 AM Friday. Mrs. Watts will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Thursday. Mrs. Elounda Marie Watts was born March 2, 1963 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Vera E. McNeal and Pete Williams. Elounda was a resident of Flint. She was a loving homemaker, taking joy in going to the casino, playing cards and being around the people she loved. Her nickname was “Yo-Yo”. Mrs. Watts was a strong, loving and God-fearing wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be greatly missed. Mrs. Elounda Marie Watts leaves to cherish her memory: husband of 35 years, Darrel Watts; daughter, Mrs. DeShawn (Damon) Hayes of Louisville, KY; 3 sons, Mr. Antonio (Ramona) McNeal, Mr. James (Dorothea) McNeal and Mr. Darrel Watts Jr., all of Flint; 14 grandchildren, Jalena Howell, Creo McNeal, Antonio McNeal Jr., all of Winter Park, FL, Nae-Nae, Sariah, and Ka’Mauri McNeal, Thelma Hearns, Tavarius McNeal, Zaniyiah Verser, Zyana and Elnora Miller, De’Andre Benson, all of Flint, DaKari Bruce and Tayane Paris, both of Louisville, KY; step-father, Rodney Luckett (who helped to raise Elounda and Morris); 3 sisters, devoted sister, Morris McNeal, Terralisa McBride and Alicia Smith; 2 brothers, Andre Gist and Jock Gist; 4 nieces, special nieces, Shyterria McNeal and Jaree Brown all of Flint,, TyKriona Reece of Louisville, KY, Sana Jones and Jessica Jones; 2 nephews, Anthony Brown and special nephew, Dawyonn McNeal, all of Flint; 2 aunts, Regina (John) Lee of Grand Rapids, MI and Jackie Luckett of Flint; a host of cousins including special cousins, Jonathan Davis and Lawanna (Oscar) McNeal; 3 sisters-in-law, Peggy Watts of Flint, Yvonne Shannon of Batavia, NY and Yvette McCann of Detroit, MI; 2 brothers-in-law, Eddie Watts and George Cheese, both of Flint; god-children, Eugene Walker and Creonna Maclin; a host of other relatives and friends including best friend, Gen. Denice Thomas. Mrs. Watts was preceded in death by her mother, Vera Elizabeth McNeal; grandmother, Helen McNeal; great-grandmother, Alberta McNeely; mother-in-law, Ida Mae Watts; aunts, Vera McNeal, Janice Bradley and Denise McNeal; uncles, James Marshall, Oscar “Skinny” McNeal and Raymond McNeal; sister, Tonya McNeal; niece, Monique McNeal; nephews, Clarence Grigsby and Eric Brown; and brother, Manuel Holcolm.
