Mrs. Elouise Howlett

HOWLETT, Mrs. Elouise - Age 79, passed away Monday, March 9, 2015 at Medilodge-Montrose. Family hour 10 a.m. Monday, March 16, 2015 at House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church, 1851 W. Carpenter Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Rev. Kenneth Stewart officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10 a.m. Monday. Mrs. Howlett will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. Sunday. Mrs. Elouise Howlett was born May 18, 1935 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, the daughter of Mary and James Woodard. She was a graduate of Merrill High School. Elouise attended House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church by way of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. She served of the Nurses Board at House of Prayer. She was employed at A.C. Spark Plug Division and was a member of UAW Local #651 where she retired May of 2004. Elouise was united in Holy Matrimony to Edmond Howlett on June 16, 1953. She was a devoted wife and mother to her husband and daughters, Joyce and Pam. Elouise was a woman of many talents, she loved to cook for everyone, shopping, playing cards and going to the casino. She was also a great home decorator and one of the sharpest women in Flint. Mrs. Elouise Howlett leaves to cherish her memory: husband, Edmond Howlett; daughter, Pamela Howlett; grandchildren, Deoheila C. Howlett Nikeya Jenkins; great-grandchild, Jalin Malik Harper; sister, Madie Littleton; brother, Jessie Woodard; 6 nieces, Barbara Eichelberger, Janice Starks, Beverly Jackson, Heidi Robinson, Zoya Jordan and Brenda Bowden; 2 nephews, Jessie Woodard, Jr. and Dr. Ray Littleton; 2 cousins, Johnny Ray Whaley and Patricia Brooks; sister-in-law, Opal Lane; a host of other relatives and friends including play daughters, Debra Stitt, Anette Marks, Flo Ross, Jean Wells, Pat Greene and Jackie Hunter. Mrs. Howlett was preceded in death by her daughter, Joyce R. Monroe; mother, Mary Woodard; father, Jesse Woodard; sister, Barbara Jordan; brothers-in-law, Napoleon Littleton and Dennis Littleton; niece, Shirley Littleton; cousin, George Whaley.
