Eloise Franklin

FRANKLIN, Mrs. Eloise F. - Age 67 passed away Saturday, February 9, 2008 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 11AM Saturday, February 16, 2008 at Vernon Chapel AME Church, 5802 Dupont St., with funeral service commencing at 12Noon, Pastor Ernest Garrison, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11AM Saturday. Mrs. Franklin will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 2PM-8PM Friday. Mrs. Eloise "Fay" Franklin was born October 25, 1940 in Huntington, West Virginia, the daughter of James and Hardy Johnson. She was a resident of Flint, MI and a long time member of Vernon Chapel AME Church. Mrs. Franklin worked for Delphi and retired in the year of 2000. She loved shopping, talking on the phone, and playing with her granddaughter as they watched "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader". She loved spending time with her nieces and great niece, doing things like cleaning the house and running errands. She also loved delegating to those around her. Mrs. Franklin's number one hobby was making sure her daughter was and stayed happy. Mrs. Eloise F. Franklin leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Tonya (Joe) Robinson; granddaughter, Briana Nicole Robinson, all of Flint; 2 sisters, Judith Ferguson of Chesapeake, West Virginia and Jean Johnson of Huntington, West Virginia; brother, William L. "Buddy" Johnson of Huntington, West Virginia; 7 nieces, Kim, Felecia, Tara, Ulanda, Kathy, Sharon, and Diane; 12 nephews, Clifford, Carlbenny, Lawrence, Jerry, Richard, Kenneth, Butch, David, Ray, Tyrone, Jack Sr., and special nephew, Tim Mark; a host of other relatives and friends, including; Sue Brown and Montella Lewis. Mrs. Eloise Franklin was preceded in death by her husband, Polan Franklin; parents, James and Hardy Johnson; brothers; sisters, Betty Reed and Dorthy High; and sister and best friend "Rita" Tolbert. The family would like to express special thanks to the Hurley medical Center CCU Unit, special thanks to nurse Gwen Pryor, Pastor Ernest J. Garrison of Vernon Chapel AME Church, Pastor and Mother Robinson of Evangelistic Temple, Pastor Seon Thompson and The Refuge Temple Church Family, Bishop Dunlap and The Eliezer Church Family and Dr. Arif.
