WALTON, Ms. Ellendora "Eleanor" - Age 70, departed this life on Monday, May 23, 2011 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Family hour 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2011 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Pastor James Hodo officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. Ms. Walton will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday. Ms. Ellendora “Eleanor” Walton, was born January 20, 1941 in Mineral Springs, AR the 7th child of the late Cardell and Willie Lee Walton. “Eleanor” attended Howard County High School in Toilette, Arkansas where she graduated with the "Class of 1960". Upon graduation, she relocated to Flint, where she began her employment with Buick, a division of General Motors, retiring after 35 years of service in 2003 and was a member of UAW Local #599. “Eleanor” was a member of Family Worship Center International Church, under the leadership of Pastor Timothy R. Stokes. She was Past Commandress of the Daughters of Isis, Oman Court #132 Ellendora was an avid bowler who bowled with the Order of Golden Circle League. “Eleanor” also belonged to various leagues including the Dough Girls and the Rollettes. She enjoyed traveling, shopping and life in general. "Eleanor" was the life of the party. Ms. Walton leaves to cherish her memory: four sisters and four brothers including, Jerry (Theodore) Jordan of Grand Blanc, MI, Linda Ireland, Barbara Jordan, Trisha Scott, Elder C.D. (Bert) Walton, Frederick Walton, D.M. Walton and Henry Walton, all of Flint; a host of nieces, nephews, and special friends, including Malinda Johnson and Deidra Miller. Ms. Walton was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Lee and Cardell Walton, brothers, Ben Walton, Jr., James Walton; and sister, Virginia McNeal. The family wishes to express great gratitude to the staff at McLaren Regional Medical Center 6th floor ICU nurses and physicians, Pastor Timothy R. and Tonya Stokes, Pastor James Hodo and the Family Worship Center International Church Family.
