Mrs. Elizabeth Vary

VARY, Mrs. Elizabeth - Age 51, passed away Friday, May 24, 2013 at her residence. Family hour 10 a.m. Monday, June 3, 2013 at Holbrook Church of God, 1034 E. Holbrook Ave., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Pastor Leo Robinson officiating. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, 5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10 a.m. Monday. Mrs. Vary will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday. Ms. Elizabeth A. Vary was born March 16, 1961 in New Orleans, Louisiana, the daughter of Dorothy Vary and step-father, Herman Lacey. She moved to Flint in 1971 and attended Flint Central High School. Elizabeth was a Cook. Her hobbies were playing Video Games with her son, Da’Shawn, movies, Barbequing and singing. Elizabeth loved to entertain family and friends by singing “Oh, Oh, Oh by Lenny Williams.” In 2011 she was drawn to God, that’s when a new song was put in heart “Oh, Oh, Oh by Kirk Franklin.” Elizabeth joined Holbrook Avenue Church of God where she ushered and Praise Danced with “Age to Age” while smiling and serving others. Ms. Elizabeth A. Vary leaves to cherish her memory: father of her 2 oldest sons and 1st love, Glenn Roberts; daughter, Dasarae Green; 3 sons, Earl Donta Vary, Glen L. Vary and Da’Shawn Moore; 4 grandchildren, Dequavion Vary, JaVontae Vary, Ta’Nasia Vary and I’Moni Elizabeth Marie Mason; sister, Brenda (Donyale) Carroll of Flint; 3 brothers, Anthony Ray Carney of Louisville, KY, Joel Stansberry of Lansing, MI and Alonzo Stansberry of Flint; 9 nieces, Kimberly and Johnnie Vary, Sekeda (John) Turcsak of Arizona, Evony, ShaQwanda Stansberry, Takelia Adams of New York, Precious Stansberry of Detroit, MI, Lacey Thompson and Satoria Carroll; 7 nephews, David and Demario Stansberry, Shannon, Fred, Marcus Vary, Georgio Moore and Demetrius Rushing of Flint; aunt, Patricia (Glen) Rodgers of Flint; uncle, Donald Ray (Dorothy) Stansberry of St. Francisville, LA; 4 cousins, Kenyon (Veronica) Stansberry, Natasha (Donny) Robinson; Demeritus and Eric Rodgers; sister-in-law, Debra Stansberry-bey; brother-in-law, Donyale Carroll; a host of other relatives and friends including 14 great nieces and nephews, 1 great-great-nephew; special friends, Dell Moore and Glenn Roberts. Ms. Vary was preceded in death by her daughter, Elizabeth Ann Vary; grandson, Derriontae Vary; parents, Dorothy Vary and step-father, Herman Lacey; grandparents, Conelia Stansberry and Feltus Stansberry; 2 sisters, Carolyn Kitchen and Stacey Stansberry; brother, John Fred Vary; nephew, Craiglan Vary; and best friend, Vina Fant.
