STEPHENS, Mrs. Elizabeth - Age 81, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2007 at her residence. Family hour 10:30AM Saturday, November 17, 2007 at Blackwell AME Zion Church, 1902 Sonny St., with funeral service commencing at 11AM. Rev. Andre' Greene officiating, Rev. Anthony Morris, Pastor. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30AM Saturday. Mrs. Stephens will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd, and may be viewed from 10AM-8PM Friday. Mrs. Elizabeth O. Stephens was born August 31, 1926 in Johnson City, Tennessee, the daughter of Walter and Alberta Bradley. Elizabeth has been a resident of Flint for 50 years. She was a member of Real Christian Love Ministry and Mother of the church. Elizabeth graduated from Langston High School in Johnson City, TN. She was employed with the Flint Community Schools in the Environmental Services until retirement. Her greatest love was working crossword puzzles, word finds, reading her Bible and newspapers. She also liked watching the soap operas and Christian stations. Mrs. Elizabeth O. Stephens leaves to cherish her memory: beloved niece and caregiver, JoAnn Dockery, Janice McAdams, Kathy Hall and LaShonda Bradley, all of Flint; nephews, Jackie (Janice) Pennyman, Sr. of Farmington Hills, MI, Ralph (Rachel) Hall of West Bloomfield, MI and Greg Tucker of Houston, TX and host of other nieces and nephews; cousins, Evelyn Caldwell, Ethel Babb of Cleveland, OH, Octave (Henrietta) Bradley of Flint and Johnnie Gill of Freeport, NY; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Audrey M. Stephens and JoAnn Bradley both of Johnson City, TN; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Mrs. Dessie Johnson, Ms. Terry Anderson, Ms. Mattie Bentley, Rev. Andre' Greene and the Real Christian Love Ministries church family. Mrs. Stephens was preceded in death by her husband, Edward L. Stephens; daughter, Elizabeth Alberta Bowen; son-in-law, Milton Bowen; sisters, Helen Johnson, Corina Avery, Mary Smith and Katherine McAdams; brothers, Garfield Johnson, Charles and Robert Bradley. The family would like to express special thanks to Rev. Anthony Morris and Blackwell AME Zion Church family, Martha Wiley-organist, and Gwen Hemphill.
