Mrs. Eldoris Simmons

SIMMONS, Mrs. Eldoris - Age 84, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the Regency of Grand Blanc in Grand Blanc, MI. Family hour 12:30 PM Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Christ Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, 317 E. Hamilton Ave., with funeral service commencing at 1:00 PM, Pastor Kenneth L. Stewart, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 12:30 Saturday/ Mrs. Simmons will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 1:00 PM-8:PM Friday with family present to receive friends from 4:00 PM-7:00 PM. Mrs. Eldoris Simmons was born March 7, 1933 in Texarkana, Texas, the daughter of Colonel Sr. and Eliza Lee. She was a graduate of Flint Central High School, “Class of 1950.” Eldoris was a loving and devoted wife of Kenneth Simmons for 65 years. She worked 39 ½ years at Fisher Body Ternstedt, a division of General Motors Corporation. Eldoris was a devoted member of Christ Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church for over 40 years where she served as a member of The Voices Choir. She attended and graduated from the Novart School of Design receiving a certification in the Art of Fashion Design and Sewing. Eldoris loved Bowling, family gatherings and traveling with her friend, Mrs. Mae Broom. Mrs. Eldoris Simmons leaves to cherish her memory: husband, Kenneth M. Simmons Sr.; 1 daughter, Debra A. Simmons of Grand Blanc, MI; son, Kenneth Marty (Tracie) Simmons Jr.; granddaughter, Regina Marie Simmons, all of Flint; 2 sisters, Delores Vaughn of Mt. Morris, MI and Ida Johnson of Flint; 5 brothers, Clyde Lee Sr., of Detroit, MI, Colonel (Betty) Lee Jr. of Flint, Joseph (Dorothy) Lee of Flushing, MI, Eugene (Cathis) Lee of Grand Blanc, MI and Anthony Lee of North Carolina; a host of nieces and nephews; cousin, Faye Smalley of Oakland, CA; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Neva McGee and family, Lucy Luckett, Yvonne Tucker, Yvonne Buford, Rose Ryan, Janie Patterson and special daughter-in-law, Regina Keels. Mrs. Simmons was preceded in death by her great-granddaughter, Macaya Marie; parents, Colonel and Eliza Lee Sr.; sisters, Maple L. Skinner and Rachel Silk; brother, William J. Lee; in-laws, Alfred and Mary Simmons; brothers-in-law, Alfred Simmons Jr., Donald Simmons and Taylor Simmons.
