MARSHALL, Eld. Herman - Age 53, passed away Monday, May 30, 2005 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10AM Saturday, June 4, 2005 at New St. James Memorial C.O.G.I.C., 2229 W. Carpenter Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11AM. Pastor Eddie Parrish officiating, Pastor Quintin Marshall, Sr., eulogist. IntermentRiver Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church at 10AM Saturday. Eld. Marshall will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Friday. Elder Herman Marshall, Jr. was born on October 5, 1951 in Jackson, TN. The son of the late Herman and Arnell (Phinisee) Marshall, Sr. He was a resident of the Flint area. Elder Marshall was a member of the New St. James Memorial C.O.G.I.C. where he served faithfully. He was a national, state, district, and local Usher. He served as District Chair President, of the Y.P.W.W., and was a faithful witness for Jesus. He was part of the Jail Ministry, and many other areas in church. He was awarded "Usher of the Year" at the 95th Holy Convocation of the Church of God in Christ, Inc., in Memphis, TN on November 10, 2002. Eld. Marshall had six years of college education and he worked at Fisher One, TruGreen Lawn Care, and was an entrepreneur of Sunshine Lawn Care. His hobbies included cooking, fishing, watching movies, and singing. He loved lawn care and he loved people. Elder Marshall leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Gwendolyn Marshall; 2 daughters, Niteaka and Tameaka Marshall; 1 son, Herman Marshall, III, step-children, Javis, DeJuan, and Charles Carroll, Jr., Paul Richardson Jr., and Brionne and Syreeta Gill all of Flint, and Keisha Kornegay of Fayetteville, NC; 11 grandchildren; 2 sisters Linda Wortham of Flint, and JoAnn Wilkerson of Seattle, WA; 3 brothers, Pastor Quintin (Queen) Marshall, Sr. of Flint, and Stephen and Dondre Marshall of Seattle, WA; 8 nieces; 3 nephews; a host of aunts,uncles including special and other relatives and friends including special aunts, Mozel Thompson and Deborah Perkins; special cousin Joyce Johnson; father-in-law Beviley Lane; and special friends, Elder Bennie Williams, Deacon Phillip Parrish, Minister Bowie, Dr. Purvis Givens, and Missionary Sarah Gray. Elder Marshall was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman and Arnell Marshall-McCrary; step-father, Rufus McCrary; and grandparents.
