REED, Mr. Edward "Ki, Killer, Baby Ed" - Age 37, passed away Friday, May 20, 2011 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10 a.m. Friday, May 27, 2011 at Harris Memorial Church Of God In Christ, 4317 E. Lippincott Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Pastor Eric C. Bogan officiating. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10 a.m. Friday. Mr. Reed will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Thursday. Mr. Edward Louis Reed, Jr. (A.K.A. KI, Killer, 33rd Man and Baby Ed) was born May 22, 1973 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Stella and the late Edward Reed, Sr. He was a resident of Flint all his life. Edward attended Cook Elementary School and graduated from Flint Northern High School, “Class of 1991.” He was a Cub Scout and an all-around sports player where he made the Flint Journal for his sports achievements. Edward attended Mott Community College briefly. He worked at General Motors Truck and Bus in Grand Blanc, MI and was a member of UAW Local 1292. He leaves in God’s care: mother, Stella Mae Hunter-Reed; 4 daughters, Teevia Brown, Alaiha and Lydia Reed, all of Flint and Ms. Smith of Cleveland, OH; brother, Demetrius (Linda M.) Hunter; sister, Tracey Kitchen; 3 nieces, Dezara, Quetta and Mona Hunter, all of Flint; nephew, Chris Hunter of Lansing, MI; 2 great nieces, Kia and Mya Franklin, both of Flint; fiancee’, Lotus Pennington; 2 stepsons, Quelondis Pennington and Chevez Crenshaw; 4 aunts, Betty McCray, Lillie Mae and Joyce Fay Hunter, all of Flint, Bea Cotton of Plummerville, AR; 2 great aunts, Martha Jones of Chicago, IL and Margaret Grace Wright of Flint; 4 uncles, Frank (Narris) Hunter of Flint, Charles Hunter of Virginia, John (Catherine) Johnson of Little Rock, AR and Ozell Reed of Plummerville, AR; 1 great, great-great uncle, Bush (Vickie) Parchman; 2 grandmothers, Arelene Hill and Minne Boose, both of Flint; god-sister, Tiffiny Seaman; 2 sisters-cousin, Lillie Dunner Hunter and Vanessa Betts-Rucker, both of Flint; 40 cousins; 59 great cousins; 58 great-great cousins; special great cousins, Davidion Armstrong, Glenn Jones, Jr., Myracle Hunter; special great great-cousin, Ray Shawn Hunter a.k.a “Ray Ray”; the special home crew of Stockdale St, special aunts, Mary Atkins and Linda Seaman. Mr. Reed was preceded in death by his son, Lee Wallace Reed; father, Edward Reed, Sr.; grandparents, Jessie and Lee Eather Hunter and Chester and Johnny Cotton; favorite aunt, Janie B. McCraney; Harold and Lettie Jennings (aka) Queen Bee; his favorite and only nephew, Demetrius DeShon Johnson.
