DONALD, Mrs. Edith - Age 57, passed away at Genesys Hospice. Funeral Service 11AM Saturday, September 26, 2009 at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 4805 N. Saginaw St., Pastor Henry L. Fuller, Jr., officiating. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, G-5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11AM Saturday. Mrs. Donald will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Friday. Ms. Edith Mae “Boes” Donald was born March 23, 1952 in Butler, Alabama, the daughter of Odis and Virga Donald. Edith attended Waynesboro and Riverview High School in Waynesboro, Mississippi. She also attended Mott Community College in Flint, MI, where she became an Intensive Care Nurse and Home Care Nurse. Edith lived in Flint off and on since 1970. She accepted Jesus Christ as the Lord of her life at an early age at St. Luke Baptist Church in Waynesboro, MS, that was her first church home. She would sing with the church choir and make a joyful noise unto the Lord. Edith enjoyed drawing, sewing, growing flowers and feeding the birds. By “Boes” being the youngest, she was the precious baby sister to her siblings, especially to her special sister and live-in caregiver, Velma (Cheata), whom she and the whole family are very grateful for. Ms. Edith Mae “Boes” Donald leaves to cherish sweet memories: sisters, caregiver, Velma (Ulysses) Allen II of Flint, Shirley (Lee) Lloyd and Marvella (L.C.) Mitchell, all of Portland, OR and Mildred (Ledget) Glover of Waynesboro, MS; brother, Willie (Jannie) Hicks; cousin, Pheonix (Kathrine) Williamson and special nephew, Ulysses Allen III (who spoiled her by giving her pops, taking her out to eat fast food and shopping), all of Flint; 7 nieces; 8 nephews and a host of loving family members and friends. Ms. Edith Mae “Boes” Donald was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; 2 brothers, Curtis Donald and Albert Farrier; sister, Hattie Pool; and nephew, Calvin Allen. The family would like to express special thanks to Pastor Henry L. Fuller, Jr. and Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church family, Pastor Kelly Richards and Pastor Patrick McNeal.
