WILLIAMS, Mr. Edgar - Age 82, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at Brian's House. Family hour 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2011 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 2 p.m. Pastor Charles E. Roots officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. Mr. Williams will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12Noon-8 p.m. Tuesday. Mr. Edgar Daniel Williams was born July 3, 1928 in Memphis, Tennessee, the son of Howard and Clara Williams. Edgar was raised in Memphis, TN, where he attended Memphis Public Schools. He worked as a Special Laborer for T.R.W. Airlines for 34 years, where he was loved and admired very much. Edgar loved taking care of his family and wife for 25 years until her passing in 2010. Edgar resided in Benton Harbor, Michigan for several years until he moved to Flint, Michigan in 2010. Edgar loved the casino and wasn’t afraid to tell everybody. He was a kind, caring, loving gentleman. If anyone needed anything, he would help in any way he could. Mr. Edgar D. Williams leaves to cherish his memory: daughter, Beatrice McDonald of St. Louis, MO; 2 sons, Willie Lee Williams and Edgar Williams, Jr., both of Los Angeles, CA; 7 step children, Karen Watkins, Daryl Cannon, Ronald Cannon and Jesse Cannon, all of Benton Harbor, MI, Eric (Marva) Cannon of Atlanta, GA, Arthur Cannon of Los Angeles, CA and Craig Cannon of Las Vegas, NV; 4 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; sister-in-law, Rachel Ross of Benton Harbor, MI; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including special nieces, Clara Smith and Valerie Williams, both of Flint and special nephew, Ernie Hudson of Los Angeles, CA. Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his: wife, Ruby Williams; stepson, Edward Cannon; parents, Howard and Clara Williams; 3 sisters, Irene Moses, Lodenia Jackson and Minnie Jones; 7 brothers, Dee Williams, Elijah Williams, Ezeka Williams, Rosser Lee Williams, Alan Williams, Willie Williams and NuJean Williams; 2 nephews, James Williams and Johnnie Lee Charles. The family would like to express special thanks to the Staff at Brian’s House, Dr. Aroa and Dr. Matthew.
