Mr. Eddie Charles Fields

FIELDS, Mr. Eddie Charles - Age 78, passed away Friday, February 21, 2025, at his residence. Family hour 10:30 AM Saturday, March 1, 2025 at First Trinity Baptist Church, 1226 Beach St., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Pastor Kim Yarber, officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30 AM Saturday. Mr. Fields will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Friday. Mr. Eddie C. Fields was born May 29, 1946 in Utica, Mississippi, the son of Dayton and Effie Fields. After the passing of his father, Eddie moved to Jackson, Mississippi. There Eddie attended and graduated from Brinkley High School, that is also where he met his high school sweetheart, Lessie Brown and to later married in July of 1968. In 1972, Eddie and his wife of 56 years and their first born daughter, relocated to Flint, Michigan. He became employed at the City of Flint for many years. Eddie also went on to work for the Genesee County Sheriff Department. He labored for 27 years until retiring in 2009. Eddie was a faithful, dedicated member of First Trinity Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a member of the First Trinity Security Ministry. He also was a member of the BEST Male Chorus. Eddie was a quiet, dedicated family man that loved his girls immensely! He also took joy in planning the Cooper-Thomas-Dixon Family Reunions. Eddie was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. Mr. Eddie C. Fields leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Lessie Fields of Flint; 6 daughters, TuaJuanna (Vernon) McKinzy of Mt. Dora, FL, Shunta Fields of Flint, LaQuanda (Adesina) Fields of Jackson, MS, LaQuanesha (Robert) Brawley of McKinney, TX, QuShawnda Fields of Powder Springs, GA and QuSheida Fields of Orlando, FL; grandchildren, Cornise Bailey of Powder Springs, GA, Christian Williams of Flint, Bryson Wright, Brooklyn Mitchell, both of Powder Springs, GA, Caleb and Case Brawley, both of McKinney, TX; god-daughter, Corvette Stephens of Atlanta, GA; god-son, Darrick Collins of Arlington, TX; 2 sisters, Nellie (Robert) Catching and Catherine (Kenneth) Chaney of Jackson, MS; brother, John (Leona) Fields of Newport News, VA; a host of other relatives and friends. Mr. Fields was preceded in death by his parents, Effie and Dayton Fields; grandparents, Clifton and Fannie Thomas; 5 brothers, Carvester Fields, Lee Arthur Fields, George Fields, Tino Fields and James Fields; a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
