Mr. Eddie "Shotgun" Dailey

DAILEY, Mr. Eddie "Shotgun" - Age 82, passed away Saturday, October 5, 2024, at McLaren-Flint. Family hour 11:00 AM Friday, October 25, 2024, at Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church, 1215 E. Downey Ave., with funeral service commencing at 12:00 PM Pastor Morris Collins, officiating. Interment, River Rest Cemetery, G4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11:00 AM Friday. Mr. Dailey will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed Thursday, October 24, 2024 from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Mr. Eddie Ray Dailey was born November 23, 1941 in Connersville, Arkansas the son of Frank Dailey and Bernice Gragg. Eddie departed this life on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at the age of 82 years. Eddie spent his adolescent years in Arkansas where he was able to spend time with his grandfather, Andrew Gragg and his wife. He later moved to Kansas City, Missouri where he attended school until a young adult. Later during his young adult years, he moved and settled in Flint, Michigan. Eddie “Whoopi” obtained a position at General Motors as a welder and worked at several plants including Grand Blanc Metal Center, receiving many certifications for his work. He retired after nearly three decades. He was a member of Galilean Missionary Baptist Church and excepted Christ under the leadership, of Pastor John Jenkins. He later transferred his membership to Mt. Sinai Baptist Church. Eddie was married to Mary Dailey, then in later years, he met and married Virgie Dailey. In his earlier days he had a great passion for his CB radio, where he obtained the handle “Shotgun”. He was also a member of the Van Club. He loved playing cards, fishing, hunting, listening to music and most of all spending time with his family and taking care of them. He was outspoken, loyal, strong willed, dedicated to love ones, had a wonderful sense of humor and an enormous heart. Mr. Eddie Dailey leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Virgie Dailey; children which are added to the union, Tujuana Jenkins, Angelo Blair, Yalonda Dailey and Sindy (Wayne) Lee; brother, Billy Dailey, Detroit, MI; sisters Bertha Sherrier, Carolyn Brassfield, Wanda Dailey, all of Arkansas, Laverne Collins, Wanda Turner, Sandra Collins, all of Kansas City, MO, Norma Norman, Detroit, MI, Brenda Wah of Georgia and Shirley “Honey Bun” Tilghman of Texas; aunt, Ollie Mae Gragg; grandchildren, Dajuan (Megan), Daja and Dana, Delveion, Carlos, Monica, Diamond (Demario), Angelica (Tory) , Ronald “Lil”Angelo and Ashanti; a host of great-grandchildren; host of nieces and nephews other relatives and friends. Mr. Dailey was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Dailey and Bernice Gragg; brothers, Charles “Chunk” Dailey, George, Kenneth and Keith Dailey; sisters, Linda Riggins, Anita “Louise” Gragg, Betty Brewer and Patricia Williams.
