Mr. Earnest Lee Scott

SCOTT, Mr. Earnest Lee - age 57, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at his residence. Family hour 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Bethel United Methodist Church, 1309 N. Ballenger Hwy. with funeral service commencing at 12 p.m. Rev. Faith Timmons officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11 a.m. Wednesday. Mr. Scott will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. and may be viewed from 12 p.m.-8 p.m. Tuesday, with the family present from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Mr. Earnest Lee Scott was born on December 16, 1956 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, the son of James Lampkin and Pearline Scott Cabine. In 1965 Earnest moved to Flint with his mother, stepfather and younger siblings. Earnest attended Flint Southwestern High School and Mott Adult High School where he earned his diploma and certification in electrical wiring and home remodeling. Earnest was multi-talented and held many different jobs. He found his passion in electrical work. Early in life he enjoyed reading the Bible, cross-word puzzles, fishing, cooking, carving, disc jockeying and could play a mean game of spades. Earnest was the life of the party. He enjoyed being with friends and family. He was loving and good hearted. Mr. Earnest Lee Scott leaves to cherish his memory: daughter, Tabitha Collins of Flint; 4 sons, Shawn Cooper of New Orleans, LA, Yattel Collins, Elqueon Ormond, Queontae Ormond all of Flint; 3 grandchildren, Elijah, Elaywa, Journey; mother Pearline Scott Cabine; stepfather, Samuel Cabine; 2 sisters, Sandra Cabine and Armetrice Cabine of Atlanta, GA; 3 brothers, Edward Cabine of Portland, OR, Maurice Scott, Vernon Cabine, all of Flint; 3 nieces, Maya, Myl, Malia and nephew Darius; special aunt Verastine Lane; uncle Tomie Spencer of Flint; cousins , Percy Hicks, Larry Scott and a host of other relatives and friends including special friend Jermaine Blount. Mr. Scott was preceded in death by grandparents Sampson Scott and Alzena Hicks; aunt, Maryline Murry; uncles, Bennie Scott and JD Scott; special cousin, Gloria McCoy.
