Mrs. Earline "Lene" Burrage

BURRAGE, Mrs. Earline "Lene" - Age 86, passed away Friday, March 18, 2016 at her residence. Family hour 10:00AM Monday, March 28, 2016 in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00AM, Rev. Mack Larkin officiating. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, G-5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:00AM Monday. Mrs. Burrage will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be view from 10:AM-6PM Sunday. Mrs. Earline Delores “Lene” Burrage was born July 23, 1929 in Turrell, Arkansas the son of Adell Buchanan and Lee Troy Young. Earline was united in Holy Matrimony in 1961 to Luther Burrage. To this union 16 children were born. In 1985, the family moved to Michigan, where Earline joined Morning Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Robert E. Jones. In 1990, she joined True Temple Missionary Community Church, under the leadership of Pastor Mack Larkin. Earline served faithfully on the Mother’s Board, until her illness prevented her from doing so. She was a woman of few words but she always told her family and friends, “I love you, baby” at the end of just about every conversation. She loved spending time with her family and friends, going out shopping, fishing and cooking. She will be dearly missed. Mrs. Earline Delores “Lene” Burrage leaves to cherish her memory: her children, Rev. Willie (Lettie) Tyler, Alma (AC) Wilburn, Bertha, Allan, Luther Jr., and Donnie Burrage, and Bonnie Smith, all of Flint, Ruthie (Clezell) Reynolds of Jonesboro, AR, Mattie (Jimmy) Robinson of Blytheville, AR, Deloris (James) Booth of Port Huron, MI and Quint Burrage of Davenport, IA; 58 grandchildren; over 200 great-grandchildren; siblings, Ella Carruthers of Mexico City, NM, Emerson, Robert and Dan White, all of Davenport, IA; a host of great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Mrs. Burrage was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Burrage, Sr.; daughters, Earnestine Burrage, Adell Howard and Teresa McKinney; sons, Willie Lewis Hankston and Luther Burrage (infant); 4 granddaughters, Dolores Smith, Mattie Robinson, Kalota Burrage and Darnisha Smith; parents, Adell Buchanan and Lee Troy Young; siblings, Alma Jean Mitchell, Elnora Doss, Odell, William Holliman and Alfred White. The family would like to express a special thanks to McLaren Hospital—Flint, McLaren Hospice Nurses and Owosso Hospice House.
