CONERLY, Mrs. Earlene M.(Alford) - Age 65, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Willowbrook Manor. Family hour 12:30 PM Monday, April 15, 2019 at Christ Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, 317 E. Hamilton Ave., with funeral service commencing at 1:00 PM Pastor Allen C. Overton Sr., officiating. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, 5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 12:30 PM Monday. Mrs. Conerly will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM Sunday. Mrs. Earlene M. Alford Conerly was born March 15, 1954, in Flint, Michigan. The daughter of Earl and Helen Alford Sr. She was a member of Christ Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church. She also sang in the choir in the alto section. Earlene was baptized at an early age at Canaan Baptist Church under the late Rev. Alfred L.C. Robbs. Earlene was a lifelong resident of Flint, MI and was a graduate of Flint Northwestern High School Class of “1973”. Earlene worked at Gilbreath Manufacturing in Howell, MI for almost 15 years. She loved the Lord with all of her heart! She loved to listen to Gospel music and most of all she loved the James Cleveland song called “Jesus is the Best Thing that Ever Happened to Me”! Earlene loved going to church, singing in the choir and family pot lucks at her mother’s and aunt’s houses. “Them was the good ole days where, the family got together to eat and sing songs and just have a great time.” Mrs. Earlene Conerly leaves to cherish her memory: father of her children, Frank W. Conerly of Flint; 2 sons, Michael (LaLania) Alford of Flint, MI and Kendrick (TaQuana) Conerly of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Kia Conerly, Kaleb Tiford of Saginaw, MI, Kaliyah Conerly, Dante Holland of Phoenix, AZ and Madison Davis-Brewster of Flint, MI; great-grandchild, Karter Parhsiliti of Saginaw, MI; 4 brothers, Rev. Donald (Melvia) Russell of Florence, AL, Gerald (Ollie B.) Russell of Little Rock, AR, Larry Alford of Flint, MI, and Gregory Alford of Norfolk, VA; 42 great nieces and nephews; 50 great-great nieces and nephews; a host of sister and brother cousins; brother-in-law, Mr. Harold Craig; special sister cousin, Frieda and the Coleman family; very, very, very special companion, Mr. Denver Strong and the Christ Fellowship Church Family. Mrs. Conerly was preceded in death by: parents, Earl and Helen Alford Sr.; 3 sisters, Brenda Craig, Sandra Wilson, Annette Alford; 3 brothers, Benjamin Alford, Robert Alford, Earl Alford Jr; grandparents, Nay and Luella Alford, Henry and Charlotte Russell; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
