Mrs. Earlean Tims

TIMS, Mrs. Earlean - Age 85, passed away Monday, July 3, 2017 at Henry Ford Hospital-Detroit, MI. Family hour 1:30 pm Tuesday, July 11, 2017 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2:00 PM, Brother Rueben Carmona Sr., officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy., Mt. Morris, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Chapel 1:30 PM Tuesday. Mrs. Tims will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 2:00 PM-8:00 PM Monday. Our Mother, Our Mama Lean, was the top salesperson in all she enjoyed doing; Sarah Coventry, Park Lane Jewelry, Jafra Beauty/Skin Care, Amway, Melaleuca Company and Lingerie products, her entire career from the early 1970’s until the late 2000’s. If you wanted to have something that lasted a lifetime, with exquisite value, and in Earlean’s words, that “speaks to you,” you had the best! She would never endorse less. Our Mother’s personality, combined with doing the things she liked and believed in, made it both joyful and pleasant to do business with her. She made people feel special to receive what it was she offered them. These qualities made her career such a success because she enjoyed what she did. Others who also showed interest in sales, would seek her out specifically, and requested to go with her on her parties/shows-displays. They wanted to learn her unique selling techniques. Our Mother, was frequently asked to demonstrate her techniques at their yearly district sales convention. There, she would always receive a trophy for work well done. She would also receive money bonuses, accompanied with free trips all over the world, by way of airplane and cruises. She was offered, several times throughout her career, to become a Director/Teacher of sales, most notably a traveling spokesperson for Sarah Coventry and Jafra Beauty/Skin Care, amongst others that are too numerous to mention. However, instead of pursuing those goals, she chose to just enjoy what she was doing locally. She definitely was a people person. And People loved her! Our Mother, for the rest of her life, continued to put Jehovah, her husband, and her family FIRST. Selling was only for fun. She would say with a smile, “My El took very good care of me.” Our Mother’s last endeavor was to increase her field service ministry along side of her husband who was a full-time Pioneer. With earnest effort, while ill at times, she’d still accompanied her dear husband in the preaching work by riding along with him and sitting in on Bible Studies. She never missed an opportunity to speak about Jehovah to each and everyone she met. Each social gathering, each social outing, and some doctor visits her preaching work presented itself. Teaching others about Jehovah was such a priority for Mama Lean that she aided her mother, brothers, sister, and others into the truth and to love Jehovah with all their heart. Even when speech became an issue in may words, she still managed these few words, “Serve Jehovah and Live Forever” to all she would see and took time to listen to what she had to say. Our Mother, Our Mama Lean, was a beautiful, devoted, loving wife, was a precious unconditional loving mother, was a very great and loving grandmother and great-grandmother, and she loved Jehovah. She was a True Servant and believer in her Faith, and all Faith stands for. She had Faith in the Resurrection of those who fall asleep in Death. And as she would say, “Be there an see me when Jehovah wakes me Up, in the New World.” She loved all of us. Mrs. Earlean Tims was born December 30, 1931 in Greenwood, Mississippi, the daughter of Lillie and Henry McClellan. She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses October, 1967. Earlean’s deep love of God Jehovah never waned. She was a faithful servant. Mrs. Earlean Tims leaves to cherish her memory: the love of her life, Elmo Tims, as they shared 64 years of marital bliss; 4 daughters, Lillie C (Johnnie) Allen of Madison, MS, Lillie B McClellan of Chicago, IL, Sandra (Kirt) Wren and Evelyn (Alphonzo) Hatter, all of Mt. Morris, MI; 2 sons, Elmore (Vicki) Tims of Grand Blanc, MI and Michael (Shontail Cherie) McClellan of Flint; 23 grandchildren, Johnnie Allen Jr., Harold McClellan, Mark McClellan, Latrina McClellan, Gerard Tims, Dea McGee, Aaron Tims, Teneal Morris, Desiree Barker, Markita Tims, Keyana Tims, Brianna Tims, Chiqueshia Tims, Reneshia Tims, Dametrice Tims, Brandon Tims, Kenneth Tims Jr., Damion Gadson, Avante Hatter, Alphonzo Hatter, Sterling Hatter, Mercedes McClellan and Michael McClellan Jr.; 22 great-grandchildren; sister, Camilla (Kenneth) McGee of Flint; 4 brothers, Norman (Lorraine) Childress, Farmon (Irma) Childress, Arden (Gloria) Childress of Davison, MI and Clyde (Linda) Childress of Millington, MI; sisters-in-law, Mamie Owens of Flint and Cora Thames of Walnut Grove, MS; a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and wonderful and caring congregational members. Mrs. Tims was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth L. Tims; parents, Lillie and Henry McClellan; sisters, Penny Thomas and Dorothy Jean Blevins; brothers, George and Joe Childress; and second father, Douglas Childress.
