CALDWELL, Rev. Earl O. - Age 76, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10 a.m. Monday, October 26, 2015 at Family Worship Center Church International, 3280 N. Linden Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Pastor Timothy R. Stokes, Host Pastor. Pastor James Hodo, Officiating. Interment Lovedale Memorial Cemetery, G-5175 E. Bristol Rd., Burton, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10 a.m. Monday. Rev. Caldwell will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Sunday. Rev. Earl O. “Babe” “Brother Earl” “Heavy on the Brother” Caldwell was born October 17, 1939 in Collinston, Morehouse Parish, Louisiana the son of Mr. & Mrs. O. C. and Magdalene Caldwell. Earl attended school in Bastrop, LA where he graduated from Morehouse High School. In his youth, Earl drove school buses for Monroe, LA, which gave him plenty of stories to share later in life. He moved to Flint in July 1963. “Brother Earl” was gainfully employed with Delphi, a division of General Motors, until his retirement in 2004. He married his ‘Boo’ Paulette, that same year. Earl loved reading the Bible and sharing God’s word, after all he founded White Harvest Ministries after becoming an ordained Minister. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, sharing the stories of his life and eating good food. “Babe” leaves to cherish his memory: his “Boo” Paulette Caldwell of Flint; children, Veronica Caldwell-Loyd of Las Vegas, NV, Micheal Caldwell of Los Angeles, CA, Natalie Caldwell of Flint, Sandy Threlkeld, Anton, Nile, Adell, Ada and Mia Malloy; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Offie Goldman of Monroe, LA; brother, Ivory (Kay) Caldwell of Bastrop, LA; aunt, Johnnie Mae Caldwell of Newark, NJ; uncle, Clarence (Minnie) Caldwell of Flint; sisters-in-law, Norma Caldwell of Mt. Morris, MI, Bessie Tucker of Bastrop, LA, Ethel (Bobby) Odom of Atlanta, GA, Vonceal (Arthur) Orr, Gloria Eave of Chicago, IL; brothers-in-law, Henry Eave Jr. of Atlanta, GA, Charles Eave of Chicago, IL, Albert Eave of Oakland, CA and Freelon Threlkeld of Flint; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Alphonso Marks and Priscilla Johnson. Rev. Caldwell was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. & Mrs. O. C. and Magdalene Caldwell; former wife of 40 years, Lizzie Mae Caldwell; 3 brothers, Jesse, General, and Dennie Caldwell; and his granddaughter, Alaisha S. Johnson. The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Satar and his staff as well as the Hurley Medical Center Infusion Unit, for their exemplary care during Earl’s time with them.
