Mr. Duran T. Ferguson

FERGUSON, Mr. Duran T. - Age 43, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2023, in Phoenix, Arizona. Family hour 10:00 AM Saturday, January 6, 2024, at True Light Missionary Baptist Church, 6917 M.L. King Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM Pastor Floyd Fuller, officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery. G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:00 AM Saturday. Mr. Ferguson will be viewed during the family hour only. Mr. Duran Thomas Ferguson was born October 16, 1980, in Pontiac, Michigan. Duran accepted Christ and was baptized by the late Pastor Marcellus Burkett. He grew up as a member of Truelight Missionary Baptist Church located at 6917 M L King Ave, Flint, Michigan, Pastor Floyd Fuller. As a child, he was very energetic and adventurous. Those that knew him understood that he marched to the beat of his own drum. Fred Brown and Kevin Wilkes were two of Duran’s longtime friends. During school, he was very active. Duran played football, basketball, ran track, and participated in wrestling, graduating in 1999 from Flint Community Schools. He loved Michigan State football! Duran traveled and lived in several states. Around 2006, he settled in Phoenix, Arizona. Although he worked several jobs, his favorite was working as an officer at Phoenix West under the supervision of Sgt. Adam Drye, who states that Duran was a great employee, very dependable and had an enjoyable personality. He leaves to cherish his parents, Richard and Sandra Ferguson, children: son, Duran Ferguson II, of San Antonio, TX; daughters, Ariyah Ferguson of San Antonio, Texas, Unique Ferguson of Flagstaff, AZ, and Pua Ferguson of Henderson, NV; 1 grandson, Ky’sier Tyrell Amir Ross; brother, Kyle (Lottie) Ferguson of Flint, MI, and sisters, Tiffany (Jose Orozco) Ferguson of Phoenix, AZ, LaKesha Huddleston of Madison, WI, and Davina (Precious) Mosher of Minnesota; 3 nephews Martez Ferguson, Jared Mosher, Julien Orozco; and 5 nieces Gabrielle Mosher, Rickayla Ferguson, Candice Ferguson, Ava Ferguson, and Charlotte Ferguson; many uncles, and aunts, many cousins, including special cousins Quentin Shamly, Lawrence Ferguson II, and a host of other relatives, family and friends. Duran was preceded in death by all of his grandparents, his uncles, William “Poochie” Jenkins, Robert Jenkins, Norman Ferguson, Donald Ferguson, Clifford Ferguson and Carl Ferguson.
