Mr. Duane Morris Coulter

COULTER, Mr. Duane Morris - Age 71, passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2019 at Woodland Park Assisted Living. Family hour 10:00 AM Friday, January 3, 2020 at St. Peter CME Church, 771 E. Pierson Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Rev. Llewellyn V. Jones, officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy., Mt. Morris, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:00 AM Friday. Mr. Coulter will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM Thursday. Mr. Duane Morris Coulter, son of the late Joe Jr. and Emma Coulter was born August 3, 1948 in Flint, Michigan. He attended Flint Community Schools and was a proud graduate of Northern High School, “Class of 1966.” After graduating from high school, he was employed with General Motors for over thirty-eight years. At an early childhood age, Duane professed his faith in Jesus Christ and joined his family church, St. James C.M.E. Church. He remained a faithful active member, until he went home to be with the Lord on December 25, 2019. He served faithfully on the usher board and a member of the Gospel Choir. Duane generous spirit, smile, love for music and dance lit up a room. He enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends. One can often find Duane dancing and singing Karaoke, whenever the opportunity presented itself. One of his favorite phrases jokingly was, “Where the party at?” He was an avid football fan and loved watching old Western movies. Duane was a committed father and friend. He exemplified an excellent work ethic and a love for life in spite of adversity. Even when he was faced with the health challenges of losing his legs several years ago, his desire to live his best life celebrating with his family and his love for the Lord was inspiring and a legacy for all who shared in his journey. Mr. Duane Morris Coulter leaves to cherish his memory: daughters Sheila Lowe of Flint, Michigan; Shela Withers Duluth, GA; Duanita Coulter, Shawn Coulter, Shari Coulter, Kale Coulter, and Kullen Coulter of Flint, Michigan; and his two bonus children: Sandy Garth and Elijah Garth of Flint Michigan. He also leaves behind a host of family and friends. Mr. Coulter was preceded in death by his mother Emma Coulter; father, Joe Coulter Jr.; grandfather, Joe Coulter Sr.; grandmother, Coreen Coulter; and brother, Dennis Coulter.
