Mrs. Drusilla Dent

DENT, Mrs. Drusilla - age 61, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2014 at her residence. Family hour 10 a.m. Monday, August 18, 2014 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Pastor Patrick W. Sanders, Sr. officiating. Interment Lovedale Memorial Cemetery, 5175 E. Bristol Rd., Burton, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10 a.m. Monday. Mrs. Dent will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday. Mrs. Drusilla Dent was born October 20, 1952 in Picayune, Mississippi the oldest of six children to Alex and Azile (Wilson) Green. She attended Flint schools and graduated from Flint Northwestern High School in 1971. Drusilla accepted Christ at an early age at New Jerusalem Baptist Church. Drusilla was employed by General Motors Delphi Plant for over 30 years, and retired in 2006. Drusilla was a kind person with a warm heart. She liked to dance, play cards, and listen to music. She enjoyed watching the stories and eating. One of her favorite things to eat was Skittles. She really enjoyed her family, playing with the kids and laughing. Mrs. Drusilla Dent leaves to cherish her precious memories:1 sister, Rose (Charles) Willingham-Holliman of Flint; 2 brothers, Al A. Green of Germany and Alex B. Green (Kim Richard) of Flint; 1 aunt, Lucille Fortenberry of Houston TX; 1 step-daughter, LaTisha Y. Edwards; a host of nieces and nephews, 2 special nephews, Marcus (Keisha) Green and Jim R. (LaTrina) Willingham, Jr.; 1 special niece, Kanisha Fant; also 1 special great niece, MarQuetta Bennett; 1 special great nephew, DeVon Clyburn all of Flint; 2 cousins, Jean and Lewis both of Houston TX; a host of relatives and friends including special friends Denver Strong, Yvonne Thomas and Larry Jones. Mrs. Dent was preceded in death by: her Husband, Freddy C. Dent; mother and father, Mr. Alex and Mrs. Azile (Wilson) Green; grandparents; 2 sisters, Cassandra Green, Vena Fant; 2 nephews, James J. Willingham, Rayshard D. Fant; 1 cousin, Daisy Davis; and a special friend of 30 years, Gary Miller. The family would like to express special thanks to: McLaren Hospital team, Vogt’s Flowers, Pastor Patrick W. Sanders and New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church. The family would like to also thank all of those who knew and loved “Dru” and those who helped throughout this whole experience.
