REDWINE, Mr. Douglas - Age 60, passed away Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Heritage Manor. Family hour 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2011 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11 a.m. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, G-5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Mr. Redwine will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 1-8 p.m. Tuesday. Mr. Douglas C. “Doug” Redwine was born December 1, 1951 in Birmingham, Alabama, the son of Eleazer Redwine, Sr. and Jimmie Louise (Davis) Redwine. Doug attended Fairview Elementary, Lowell Junior High and Flint Central High School. He was previously employed at Fisher Body. Doug enjoyed fishing and singing; especially songs by the Temptations. He loved to talk and was a sharp dresser. Doug was loved dearly by his family and friends. He leaves to cherish his memory: son, Waunneal Redwine; 2 sisters, Evelyn and Charlotte “Gayle” Redwine; 4 brothers, Jerome, Gregory, Melvin, Sr. and Eleazer, Jr.; stepmother, Betty Redwine, all of Flint; a host of nieces, Demetris, Patrice, Jaquetta, JoAnn, Thelma and Melissa; a host of nephews, Derek (Evonne), Andre, Jermaine (Tanya), Archie, Akrem, Jimmy, Quincy, Melvin, Jr., James, Joshua and Jerome, Jr.; a host of great nieces and great nephews, Cleve Ann Posey of Mt. Morris, MI, Ruby (James) Belk of Flint, Juanita Walton of Mansfield, TX, Thelma Redwine of Birmingham, AL and Virginia Redwine of Mt, Morris, MI; 2 uncles, Willie Lee Redwine and L.V. Redwine, both of Flint; a host of cousins including special cousins, Lump (Sharon) Davis and Mack Redwine; 2 sisters-in-law, Diane and Terry Redwine, both of Detroit, MI; a host of other relatives and friends including former wife, Francis Redwine and the Roper family. Mr. Redwine was preceded in death by his parents, Eleazer Redwine, Sr. and Jimmie Louise (Davis) Redwine Crowder; step-father, John W. “J.W.” Crowder; brothers, Archie LaVern and Larry Leon Redwine; niece, Angela Posey; great niece, Nicole Tyler; maternal and paternal grand parents, George and Thelma (Walton) Redwine, Berda Lee Goodwin and Cleveland Davis; aunts, Georgia Mae Parlor, Elanore (Matthew) Roper and Brenda K. Redwine; uncles, Archie “Baby Brother” Davis, Robert Walton, Willie B., Mackie B., L.C. Redwine and James Redwine, Sr.; a host of cousins including special cousins, James “Jimmy”, Kenny Redwine and Tony “Todd” McKinley.
