WYNNE, Sis. Dorothy - Age 76, passed away Thursday, January 1, 2009 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:30AM Thursday, January 8, 2009 at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 2109 M.L. King Ave., with funeral service commencing at 11AM, Pastor H.B. Dixson officiating. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, G-5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30AM Thursday. Sis. Wynne will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 1PM-8PM Wednesday. Sis. Dorothy Lee Wynne was born March 6, 1932 in Texarkana, Texas, the daughter of A.G. and Jessie Mae (Hill) Ford. Sis. Wynne became a resident of Flint after the death of her mother at a very young age. She attended Flint Public Schools graduating from Flint Central High School. Sis. Wynne accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist church where she attended Sunday School regularly and served on several auxiliaries including, Sanctuary Choir, Bereavement committee, Usher Board, Mission Board, Young Matrons, Kitchen Committee and Deaconess Board. Sis. Wynne loved life, her family and friends. She leaves to cherish her memory: devoted husband of 48 years, Mack Wynne; 2 sons, Marcus Wynne (fiance’, Tasha Chatman) and Anthony (Elizabeth) Wynne; 5 loving grandchildren, Adrienne Wynne, AnQuanda Wynne, Phine Hardiman, Terrance and Isaiah Cox; 2 great-grandchildren, Marcus Wynne Jr. and A’Nyrie Wynne; sisters-in-law, Louella Wynne, Dorothy (Arch) Bibbs, Louise Ray, Lovie McGaughy, Loretta (Bernard) Grant, Virginia Berry and Margree Alexander; brother-in-law, Roger (Jean) Wynne; a host of other relatives and friends including the Cayton, Johnson, Williams and the McCrew family. Sis. Wynne was preceded in death by her parents, A.G. And Jessie Mae Ford; sister, Loraine Gabriel; brothers, Carl and Joe Ford; sisters-in-law, Odessa Webb, Bea Woodson, Almetra Carter; brothers-in-law, O.T. Wynne, Joy Woodson, James Reeves, Joseph Carter, James Alexander, Clarence Berry and Elbert McGaughy Sr. The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Syed Sattar, Misty Remond, Dr. H.B. Dixson and the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church Family, and all other expressions of kindness.
