PRESSLEY, Mrs. Dorothy L. (Miller) - Age 71, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2011 at Avalon Hospice. Family hour 12:30 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2011 at House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church, 1851 W. Carpenter Rd., with funeral service commencing at 1:00 p.m. Eld. Zack Smith, Sr., officiating. Eld. Kenneth L. Stewart, Pastor. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 12:30 p.m. Friday. Mrs. Pressley will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12Noon - 8p.m. Thursday. Mrs. Dorothy L. (Miller) Pressley was born April 21, 1940 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, the daughter of Eddie Miller and Essie Smith. Dorothy touched many lives and she will be fondly remembered for her virtuous kind heart. She leaves to cherish her memory: son, Kenneth (Annette) Miller-El; 2 daughters, devoted daughter, Kimberlee Osborne and Linda Miller; 3 granddaughters, Temika, Tasha and Tanisha Osborne; 5 great-grandchildren, Larry, and La’niya Sublett, Treylan Osborne, Sharae Johnson and Christopher Dudley; 5 step children, Marvin, Jeffery, Kathy, Jackie and Nadine Woodard; 2 step grandchildren, Davaunga and Jacquel McEwen; special nephew, Sercy Smith of Memphis, TN, Terence Frazier of Atlanta, GA, Robert Smith, and Lance Harrison of Flint; a host of cousins including special cousins, Rudy (Alice) Gibson and Renee Bradshaw; godsons, Derrick Cheatom, Michael Stutts and Na’im Roberts; goddaughters, Carolynn Hargrave, Diane Cheatom and Debra Hayes; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Reola Brooks, Luverdia Stewart of Pine Bluff, AR, Louise Berlin, Ludille Barton and Enrique Rodriquez. Mrs. Pressley was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Pressley; parents, Eddie Miller and Essie Smith; granddaughter, Tekila Miller; 2 brothers, Willie Frazier and Charles Smith; and nephew, Daryl Smith. The family would like to express special thanks to Pastor Zack Smith and the Deliverance Church of God Church family, Pastor Kenneth L. Stewart, Bishop Bernadel Jefferson and Rev. Betty Pressley.
