Mrs. Dorothy Louise Gipson

GIPSON, Mrs. Dorothy Louise - Age 72, passed away Friday, March 24, 2017 at McLaren-Flint. Family hour 1:00 PM Saturday, April 1, 2017 at House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church, 1851 W. Carpenter Rd., with funeral service commencing at 2:00 PM, Pastor Kenneth L. Stewart officiating. Interment Lovedale Memorial Cemetery, G-5175 E. Bristol Rd., Burton, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 1:00 PM Saturday. Mrs. Gipson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM Friday. Mrs. Dorothy Louise Gipson was born August 1, 1944 in Marion, Arkansas, the daughter of Cliff Sr. and Willie B. Milton. She attended Monroe High School in Monroe, MI. After high school she moved to Flint, Michigan in 1962. Dorothy then met the love of her life and married Billye Wayne Gipson, a union that lasted until his death on September 1, 2016. She attended Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, then attended Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church and was currently a member at House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church until her health failed. Dorothy enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking, fishing and traveling. Her interests and characteristics were spoiling her grandkids and great-grandkids. Mrs. Dorothy Louise Gipson leaves to cherish her memory: 3 daughters, Bridget (Gregory) Summerville, Crystal (Jerome) Gipson, Deloris (Ayodele) Ayanwale; son, Arthur (LaTonya) Beauregard, all of Flint; loved children, 2 daughters, Christine (Saleto) Sutton of Debach, LA and Kelley Gipson of Flint; 5 sons, Rev. Howard (Dinah) Bolton of Detroit, MI, Michael Davis, Christopher Benton-Gipson, Myion Jones, all of Flint, and Byron Hampton of Beverly Hills, FL; 37 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; sisters, Beatrice Bass, Annie Gordon, both of Flint and Lillian Parker of Detroit, MI; brother, Robert Milton of Flint; special niece, Carol Byrd; to all of the remaining that were not mentioned, nieces, nephews and cousins, she loved you all so very much; sisters-in-law, Patty Milton, Verlene Milton, Eunice Milton and Belinda Gipson; brothers-in-law, Charlie Nelson and John Gipson Jr.; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Ella Harris, Annie Reese, Johnny Mae Etherly, Ann Smith, Lydia Barlow, Prudie Kelso, Erma Tyson “Gee-Gee”, Nellie (Sharon) Wright, Camilla Reese Kemp and Terry Briggs. Mrs. Gipson was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Billye Wayne Gipson; parents, Mr. & Mrs. Cliff Sr. and Willie B. Milton; grandmother, Sarah Johnson; sisters, Georgia Palmer and Sarah Milton; brothers, Eugene, Troy, Henry and Cliff Milton.
