BROACH, Ms. Dorothy Marie – age 75, passed away, Thursday, September 12, 2024 at her residence. Family hour 1:30 PM Saturday, September 28, 2024 from the chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2:00 PM. Bishop Dr. Eric A. Burns, officiating. Interment Lovedale Memorial Cemetery, 5175 E. Bristol Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the chapel Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 1:30 PM. Ms. Broach will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral. Public viewing will be during family hour only. Dorothy Marie Broach was born May 16, 1949 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Vernon Watson and Susie Rushing. Dorothy was a resident of Grand Blanc, MI. She was employed and retired from Genesis Hospice Care Center. Dorothy was the owner of Dorothy’s Creations and was affectionately called the “Hobby Lobby Lady.” Following her retirement she enjoyed her family especially her Grandchildren, Arts & Crafts, Photography, and participating in Craft Shows. Dorothy loved bowling and spending time at the Hasselbring Senior Center where she played bingo. Dorothy Marie Broach leaves to cherish her memory: 2 daughters, Kimberly M. (Eric) Burns of Tipp City, OH and Belinda Broach (Jason Scales) of Grand Blanc, MI; 2 sons, Charlie Broach Jr. of Lapeer, MI and Darrell Broach of Grand Blanc, MI; 8 grandchildren, LaShondra (Michael) Kale of Manor, TX; Latrice Burns of Flint, MI; Michelle Burns of Dallas, TX; Marcellous Broach of Georgetown, KY; Tatyonia Burns of Tipp City, OH; Myles Broach of Lapeer, MI; and Liana McNabb of Grand Blanc, MI; 4 great-grandchildren, Michael Jr., Malachi, and Jeremiah Kale, all of Manor, TX, Aaliyah Rice of Flint, MI; sister, Francis E. McDonald of Flint; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends including the Greater Galilee Baptist Church Family. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon Watson and Susie Rushing; grandparents, Howard & Alice Watson and Abby & George Rushing; 2 sisters, Verna Mae Elliot and Geraldine Rushing; 4 brothers, Douglas Watson, Boise Rushing, Ronald Elliot and Clarence (Diddy) Rushing; former husband and friend, Charlie Broach Sr; granddaughter, Daisha McNabb; great-grandson: Emanuel Kofi Kale.
