WALTERS, Mrs. Dorothea "Jean McDonald" - Age 90, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2022 at Kith Haven. Burial 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at Lovedale Memorial Cemetery, G-5175 E. Bristol Rd., Burton, MI. Mrs. Dorothea Jean McDonald Walters was born December 12, 1931 in Pontiac, Michigan, the daughter of Alberta and Nathanial McDonald, William Bolden. Dorothea was a resident of Flint, Michigan from infancy. She attended Fairview Elementary, Lowell Jr. High and completed the 10th grade at Flint Central High School. Dorothea was employed as a Waitress at Duffy’s Bar, and Quality Control Inspector at Buick City Engine Plant 36, a division of General Motors Corporation for 23 years until her disability. She enjoyed reading, fishing, traveling and playing cards. Dorothea also enjoyed the Detroit Tigers, fashion, and music. She was a member of the Eastern Star Rose of Sharon Lodge #106. Mrs. Dorothea Jean McDonald Walters leaves to cherish her memory: son, Desmond “Boo” Walters; step-son, Anthony Lacy; granddaughter, Denesha Walters of Toledo, OH; great-grandchildren, Dessire Walters of Toledo, OH, Marquel Goodman, Junior and Marcus Goodman of Flint; brother, Kenny Bolden of Detroit, MI; 3 nieces, Marvis Halloway of Las Vegas, NV, Rayna Ross of Dallas, TX, and Erica McDonald of Atlanta, GA; 6 nephews, Bruce and Kevin McDonald of Flint, Dwight McDonald of Pontiac, MI, Ryan McDonald of Egypt and Randy McDonald, Esq., of Baltimore, MD and Skeet Harrison of Flint; cousins, Annie Frances Pullums, of Chicago, IL, Jean Lane of Nashville, TN and Frank Clemons of Milwaukee, WI; sisters-in-law, Edith McDonald of White Plains, NY and Faye Ross of Arkansas; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Faye Glover, Terry Crews Sr., Cassandra Brown, Thomas Love, Darwin Gist, Chi-Chi & Red, Caroline Jones, Irene Taylor, Betty Boone, Katie Vaughn, Gus Kadden, Felix Harper. Mrs. Walters was preceded in death by, Royal “Roy” Wingfield Jr., Jonah Lacy, Katie Parker, Alberta McDonald, Richard Edward McDonald, Esq., Wilbur Vernon McDonald, Billy McDonald, Dorothy McDonald, Richard Guy McDonald-Dick, Bill Carnes and William Bolden.
