MORGAN, Mrs. Dora M. - Age 77, passed away Thursday August 9, 2012 at her residence. Family hour 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at True Light Missionary Baptist Church, 6917 M.L. King Ave., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Pastor Robert Rushing officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10 a.m. Wednesday. Mrs. Morgan will in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12-8 p.m. today. Mrs. Dora Mae Morgan was born June 16, 1935 in Colbert County, Alabama, the daughter of Percy Moore and Virginia Harvey. Dora graduated from Flint Northern High School, Class of 1954. Several years later she met Victor H. Morgan, they were united in Holy Matrimony on August 18, 1962. She was a member of True Light Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Morgan was a dedicated Homeroom Parent at Martin Luther King Elementary School for many years. She was a Professional Bridal Consultant and Wedding Coordinator for several local bridal businesses. Dora’s pastime was shopping; she was a very classy dresser. She believed in helping others and had a beautiful personality. She leaves to cherish her memory: husband, Victor Morgan of Flint; daughter, Vicki L. Morgan of Springfield, VA; son, Alphonzo (Iretta) Morgan of Kansas City, MO; 5 grandchildren; 3 great grandchilden; sister, Patricia Lewis; 4 brothers, Percy L., Roy, Timothy and Phillip Moore; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; 1 sister-in-law, Cassandra Brown of Flint; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Linda Rushing, Helen Bullock, Joanne Jones and many others. Mrs. Morgan was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother, Sadie M. Moore; brother, Charles L. Brown; step-sister, Yvonne L. Moore and uncle, Robert H. Shorter. The family would like to express special thanks to the staff of Genesys Home Health and Hospice especially; Christine Samida and Shenna Husdon; caregivers, Wanda Kelly, Koreta Thomas, Pearl Roriex, Pastor Robert Rushing and the True Light Missionary Baptist Church family.
