Mr. Donnie Ray Scott Sr.

SCOTT, Mr. Donnie Ray Sr. - Age 60, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2024 at his residence. Family hour 1:30 PM Wednesday, April 3, 2024 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2:00 PM. Rev. Danyiel Griffin, officiating. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the chapel 1:30 PM Wednesday. Mr. Scott will lie in state at the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Tuesday. Mr. Donnie Ray Scott Sr. was born April 13, 1963 in Turrell, Arkansas, the son of James and Mattie Scott. Donnie was a life long resident of Flint, Michigan and graduated from Flint Northwestern High School, “Class of 1982.” He also played basketball for Northwestern. Donnie loved fishing, cooking, music and dancing. He was also a big jokester. Donnie never met a stranger and was definitely a people person. He loved his children, grandchildren and spending time with his family and friends. Donnie would give you his last. He was a jack-of-all-trades. Mr. Donnie Ray Scott Sr. leaves to cherish his memory: fiancé and love of his life, Frances Robertson; daughter, Quayondra (Pete) Fields; son, Donnie (LaToya) Scott Jr.; bonus son, Lawrence White; 6 grandchildren, Willis, De’Montay, Pete, Ma’Layah, Kawah and Darvelle; 3 sisters, Donna Halliburton (twin), Sandra (Rodney) Thomas and Felicia Banks; 2 brothers, Billy Scott and Samuel Scott; 6 nieces, Chantel, Kendra, Latrese, Dominique, Autumn and Kiara; nephew, Samuel; a host of aunts including special aunts, Delois Scott and Audrey Smith; a host of uncles, cousins including special cousins, Glenisha and Michael Scott; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Ken and Michael Bray, Paul Born, Darrell Robertson, Lajuan Kelly and Keith Ellis. Mr. Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Mattie Scott and James (Margie) Scott; grandfather, Willie Baker; grandmothers, Inobia Baker and Georgia Morris; special uncles, Gilbert Smith “Smitty” and Elmore Baker; a host of uncles, aunts and cousins; step-mother, Margie Scott. The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Danish, Hurley Medical Center staff and the Kellar Avenue family.
