YOUNGER, Mr. Donald B. Sr. - Age 73, passed away Saturday, January 5, 2019 at his residence. Family hour 12:00 PM Friday, January 11, 2018 at Faith Tabernacle Church, 1225 S. Center Rd., Burton, MI., with funeral service commencing at 1:00 PM Pastor Bruce Garner officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 12:00 PM Friday. Mr. Younger will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM Thursday with the family present from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM to receive friends. Mr. Donald Brown Younger “Donnie” “Foxx” was born February 22, 1945 in Gretna, Virginia the son of Lelia B. Adams and George E. Younger. Donnie began his education in Flint Public Schools, graduating from Flint Southwestern High school in 1963. He confessed a love for the Lord at an early age and soon became a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. Many years later he joined Faith Tabernacle of Greater Flint. Mr. Younger was employed at GMSPO in Swartz Creek, MI, a Division of General Motors Corporation for 43 years, retiring in 2006. He was also a loyal member of UAW Local 659. Donnie loved bowling, fishing and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Donnie was loved by everyone who knew him and he loved them back. He had a very kind soul. Some of his most cherished moments were spent traveling with his wife, enjoying each other’s company. Mr. Donald Brown Younger leaves to cherish his sweet memory: daughter, Tracey (William) Younger-Parham; sons, Donald D. Younger, Jason (Terri) Younger and Darryl Calvin; 2 step children, Jason (Heidi) Shock and Jennifer (Christy) Shock; mother, Lelia B. Adams; sisters, Regina J. Adams and Tracy Younger; brothers, Eddie Adams III, Terry Younger; 10 grandchildren, Antonio Epps, Shawnisha Younger, Nataja Younger, Quartney Parham, Amari Younger, Darrion Younger, Gabriella Younger, Jackson Shock, Zachary Shock and Lilly Shock;7 great grandchildren, Chantanus Franklin, Darrion Horton, Heaven Epps, Hydrese Epps, A´Lijah Johnson, Taelon Kidd and Naria Parham; very special aunt, Alease Adams; and special friend Jacquelynn M. Younger. Mr. Younger was preceded in death by: his loving wife, Janice Shock Younger; brother, Marcus D. Adams; father, George E. Younger; step father, Eddie Adams Jr.; and great granddaughter, N´Ariyan Younger.
