BELL, Mr. Donald - Age 79, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at his residence. Family hour 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 9, 2016 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Min. Joseph Price officiating. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, G-4200 Belford Rd., Holly, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:00 AM Wednesday. Mr. Bell will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 3:00 PM - 8:00 PM Tuesday. Mr. Donald Bell was born October 17, 1937 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Jeff and Willie Bell. He was affectionately known as “Superman” to his friends and family. He made his transition on November 1, 2016. Donald was a life-long resident of Flint. He attended Flint Public Schools, graduating from Flint Northern High School, where he also starred on the football team and excelled in his architecture class. Donald served in the military, enlisting in 1955. He fought in the Vietnam War and received an Honorable Discharge in 1959. Donald had a strong belief in the unity of family and was devoted to his 3 children, Jeff, Michelle and Tracy. He retired from General Motors on September, 1, 2005 after 33 years of service, most proudly being a Journeyman Model Maker. He met his wife, Stella Morris-Bell in 2001 and they married in 2008. Donald was an avid gun collector, sportsman and an above average human being. Donald will be missed for many things-most notably his kindness, strength, laughter and love. To the person who didn’t have an enemy and never met a stranger, we say, Farewell! Mr. Donald Bell leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Stella Morris-Bell; 3 children, Michelle Bell, Tracy Bell-Gibbs of Fort Worth/Arlington, TX and Jeffrey Bell of Anchorage, AK; step-children, Grefunda (Tessbekel) Berga of Southfield, MI, and Sheilita (Antoine) Culberson of East Lansing, MI; 16 grandchildren, Laura McDaniel, TaHonishia Bell, Nathan Alex, Danielle Currie, Antonio Bell, Antwain Bell, Ashley Gibbs, DeAngelo Gibbs, Dale Gibbs Jr., Micheal Griffin, Brittany Griffin, Ashley Griffin, Brandon Griffin, Morgan Weaver, Reese Berga and Chance Berga; 3 nieces, Deborah Mosley of Atlanta, GA, Melinda Mosley of Flint, and Marsha Bell of Miami, FL; 3 nephews, Steven Mosley of Flint, Jerome Brady of Columbus, OH, and Marvin Muldrew of Washington, D.C.; 4 sisters-in-law, Linda Price of Madison, AL, Aileen Morris of Jasper AL, Dr. Sheila Martin of Mobile, AL, and Janice Kirk of Birmingham, AL; 3 brothers-in-law, Albert Morris of Jasper, AL, Willie Martin of Mobile, AL and Jerome Kirk of Birmingham, AL; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, UAW Retirees and Workers, James and C.C. Ross, Bobby Jones, Vera Wells, Lisa Graham, Joseph Price, James (Butch) Morris, Albert “Buster” Morris and many more. If your name is not mentioned it is not intentional. Mr. Bell was preceded in death by his grandson, Deonte Bell; parents, Jeff and Willie Bell; siblings, Ervin Bell, Maude Brady, Barbara Bell Williams and Margaret Bell Mosley.
