JONES, Ms. Dominique - Age 50, passed away Sunday, November 5, 2023, at MediLodge of Grand Blanc. Family hour 10:00 AM Friday, November 17, 2023, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM Minister Cameron Jones, officiating. Delta Sigma Theta Service will be held during the family hour from 10:00 AM-10:30 AM. Interment Gracelawn Cemetery, 5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Funeral Home 10:00 AM Friday, November 17, 2023. Ms. Jones will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM-6:00 PM Thursday, November 16, 2023. Dominique Lynette Jones was born on February 4, 1973 in Flint, Michigan. The daughter of Reverend Bee A. Jones and Brenda Buckner Jones. Dominique was baptized at age fifteen at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, where she was active in the youth activities and served in many capacities. Dominique was founding member of House of Solomon Missionary Apostolic Baptist Church where she remained active in various church activities. Dominique graduated from Flint Southwestern Academy, Class of 1991. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Information Systems and continued her studies in the field of electrical/electronics engineering; In her formative years, Dominique discovered her passion for the creative fine arts. She enjoyed developing her talents in the areas of theater, music (cello and flute), and dance (tap, ballet, modern and ballet). Dominique also developed a love of figure skating. She continued to express herself through the art of dance during adulthood. Dominique was an extremely talented artist and immersed herself in creating sketch art, paintings, screen printing and spray paint art. During her pre-teen and teen years, Dominique participated in a variety of sports. Animals had a special place in her heart, especially horses. She loved crossword puzzles, cross stitching, reading, and modern and classic cars. Dominique was a member of Delta Sigma Theta, Mu Phi Chapter, Flint, Michigan. Dominique was a highly empathic woman with a huge and benevolent heart. She was a dedicated and doting mother who always made her daughter top priority. Dominique’s infectious smile and laughter lit up a room. Dominique will always be remembered as a woman of strong faith, endurance, strength, and hope. Dominique leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Angelique Imani-Nia Jones; mother, Brenda Buckner-Jones; sister, Marie Jones-Watts (C. Anthony Watts, Jr.) all of Flint, MI; brother, Minister Cameron Jones of Tennessee; sister, Gwendolyn Jones; and brother, Biynah Jones of Mt. Morris, MI; step-grandmother, Precious Petross-Buckner, of Georgia; nephews, Anthony “A.J.” Watts, of Flint, MI and Adrian Barleston, of Radcliff, Kentucky; a host of many family members and friends including special friend, Marvin Jefferson of Detroit, MI . Dominique was preceded in death by her father, Reverend Bee A. Jones; grandfathers, Reverend Andrew Jones and Samuel Buckner; grandmothers, Minnie Jones and Dr. Ruth Hodgen-Buckner; aunt, Darlene Jones; uncle, Lawerence Jones; cousin, LaToi Jones.
